I’m having trouble charging Lucio’s ult at an effective rate. Do any Lucio mains have any tips to charge it faster?
Get some damage done. Lucio’s primary fire + Melee + boop does 160 damage, which charges something like 5-7% of his ult. Enviromental kills, especially on tanks are super helpful
Maximize your healing; amp it up when at least two people are low or to help with a duel. Not saying you shouldn’t use speed, but keep in mind speed boost doesn’t charge your ultimate.
This is wrong. His gun alone does 160 (with headshots)
Boop + Melee = 215
You’re not going to consistently land 4 headshots with Lucio’s gun.
My melee damage may be off, I thought it was 35, but it’s 30
So, how many beat-drops do you typically get during a quick-play match? I struggle to get more than 2 most of the time.
It’s hard to say tbh, since I tend to hold onto them. I know on KOTH maps I tend to get 2 per round, maxing out at about 6.
Next to Zarya, I believe Lucio has the slowest ramp up time?
No, Zarya actually has a fairly low ult cost. She just doesn’t put out crazy numbers.
Yeah, I looked it up, he has the highest ult charge requirement to use his ult. Which is kind of odd, in my opinion. It’s not THAT strong is it?
Lucio’s ult has 2650 charge tied to it, zarya has 1800. She just takes longer to build up damage.
It isn’t. It hasn’t been in months.
So why the high cost, you reckon?
Beats me. All I know is that 500 shield decaying to 0 in 6 seconds is not worth the price.
Most games will require a Mercy, but coming from a previous Lucio main, you will really only be effective on maps where you can boop people off the map, so use that to your ability.
The reason the pickrate on rialto for lucio is insane because his boop only takes four seconds and there are multiple chances to boop people off. So really taking a tank off the map is super effective for your ult.
Lucios ult needs some offensive play, like some aoe damage to everybody in the soundwave. Or it gives them tinnitus similar to an effect like sombras emp.
Mehh…I don’t care that much for the meta, I just play the characters I find fun. Been killing it with Doomfist lately (such a fun hero, once you get the hang of him). If Steve-o and Fuey can reach and stay in GM with arguably the worst characters in the game, I don’t see how I can’t.
It needs to cast faster, protect better, and not decay as quickly.
It needs more barrier health and it woudl work really well if the it dropped to 0 after 6 seconds instead of rapidly decaying.
I got 4 of them off in one single teamfight (final defense, Hollywood). Yeah, that was one looooooong fight, easily the longest of my career. But with all my team together, and so much damage flying in constantly, it was charging up pretty fast.
That’s just one fun anecdote, though. I agree it’s too hard to charge for what it does (I do still love Lucio overall though).
