How to buy rare skins!?

Anyone can help me how to buy rare skins!!!

I guess you would need to buy an account that has the rare skins unlocked. That is about it outside of the Blizzcon skins, which you need the virtual ticket for.

some rare skins you can buy on the OW anniversary event every year. Other skins were limited.

There are some skins that you can’t get unless you buy a specific version of Overwatch. (Pharah’s security guard skin, Soldier’s Jack Morrison skin, etc.)

There are some skins that were made as limited-time offers that you can’t get anymore through any means. So the Blizzcon skins, the Widowmaker pre-order skin, the Pink Mercy breast cancer skin, the OWL promotional skins etc. These are skins that aren’t coming back again.

For the event-specific legendaries, your options are just to farm lootboxes in arcade / QP during the event and hope that you get the skin you want, or buy a crap ton of lootboxes with real money and hope that the skin you want is in it. Or, if you’ve farmed up enough credits, you can just buy them via in game currency. There’s no way to buy skins directly with real money in this game.

EDIT: Also, like another commentor mentioned, during OW’s Anniversary event, all event-based skins are available to unlock. Just note that only skins that were released prior to the Anniversary event that year will be discounted. All skins from the current year will be the same price.

So for example, if you wanted to wait for a legendary skin from this year’s Lunar New Year event to come back during anniversary, you would still pay the 3k in currency. LNY skins for any year prior would be discounted.

Because I’m bored, here’s some news on the rarest skins via eBay.

Apparently Widowmaker’s Noire code is selling for (near) USD$87+USD$33 delivery (because we all know how expensive it is to send a digital code; those sneaky buggers!!!) so a total of USD$120.

WoW Loot - Blizzcon 2017 which has Winston’s Blizzcon skin is selling for USD$274.89

And our most expensive skin currently is WoW Loot - Blizzcon 2016 which has Bastion’s Blizzcon skin selling for USD$527.89

Well there we have it and now we can all shake our fists in frustration at these overpriced skins. :fist:

I admit I’m kind of surprised by how much less Noire costs than the other two, especially since it’s the oldest.

There have been a few million preoder-codes for that Widow skin.
BlizzCon codes are only for people who actually attend to the live event and don’t only include OW cosmetics - which means that there are much fewer codes for sale and a lot more people wanting them.

I heard that those codes expired in 2017 or 2018. Anyone know do they still work?
