How To Beat Team ZBRA (Summer Showdown)

2 things i have to preface this with;
- First is the astonishingly bad tactical use of Sombra to counter ZBRA’s Doomfist, Hack disable is severely overrated.
- Second is i will not be discussing how to deal with ZBRA’s co DPS in BastionMain on Bastion and Pharah, i will be discussing Doomfist and his synergy with his tanks, i as an unranked DPS cant tell GM’s how to aim.

So the comp is as follows;
Orisa, Winston - Sombra, Torbjorn - Ana, Zenyatta.

The variations which i will discuss beforehand here is swapping;

  • Torbjorn > Echo, If they decide to play Pharah, but not to duel Pharah. Only to survive as Torb is a sitting duck. Also has good burst damage against Doom with Sticky Bombs, do not waste Focusing Beam on a DPS as the community showed at her release that Primary Fire did just as much damage in the same time frame against squishies.

Now as you could see in the actual matches, ZBRA didnt swap as much as BastionMain so he is a constant as well as the core of the comp.
The traditional DPS counter to Doom in Competitive is Tracer, but with the right comp she is redundant.

But against a well coordinated Doom the best counter is Infinite Invisibility Sombra, note i did not say Hack Sombra.
The point of this is to see where and when he initiates his rollouts, which surprisingly(according to Doom apologist) quite a few streamers had troubles with.
When he begins the rollout process the Zenyatta will be informed to charge his volley.

If this strategy is adapted to, the Winston will be instructed to counter dive the Doom as he is falling from his rollout where his tanks cant protect him.
The Zenyatta will then be Nanoed to enforce that he is not a dive target.
And then with no ults to contest the next team fight, EMP will be used to shut down another wave of dives.
Offensively, the strategy would rely on enemy Zenyatta not having Transcendece.
The Winston will jump behind the supports and the Orisa will follow with Halt to root them, focus fire will be on the Briggitte as she provides the most heals.

If our Ana, Zen is counter dived, Zenyatta will pop Transcendence to join the Orisa dive in the front.
Ana will be left to die.

Shields will be used mostly to counter Zenyattas damage output, Anti Nade will not be used offensively.
Anas ult will be up 90% of the match, so the 1st fight will always be feeding willingly to begin this process.
Transcendence will not be used outside of the tactical gameplan above, as it steals to much healing from Ana.

Oh Torbjorn can survive, and has a zoning ultimate against a dive.
He is the panic button, doesnt require much strategy.
His positioning requires an angle to farm, nothing more.

Why are you making this post?

Mainly due to how appalled i was with many streamers attempts to counter Doomfist, as well as the incorrect usage of Sombra.

Some streamers would not even try to position differently to avoid a rollout, and in many cases positioned to make it easier for ZBRA to kill them as seen on Junkertown a map known for how big it is.

But how would you counter Pastor? This guy is a monster.

I’m not gonna read all of this since i didn’t watch this tourney and don’t have the context but this seems pretty neat.

This is the player non Doomfist players want on their team.
He looks so clean.

I think a Roadhog can deal with PunchBot Doom though, of course ZBRA in my post was running quite a bit of cheese.
