Reporting tool is objective by design. Which means its HIGHLY ABUSABLE. Worst addition to this game. Caused many players to avoid comms, and team cooperation. It’s so bad. This game went to hell when report tool was installed.

Wrong. My account was actioned for politely asking players to help with certain hero’s… like “could we get a reaper for the Winston”.
“I’m not getting healed I can’t push”
“Dps I need you to shoot rein to push him back”
The suspension was later overturned by blizzard after multiple support requests to get my chat logs.
It’s all bs and people abuse the report system.
You realize when and if you see a slur, if you’re not mature enough to just ignore it with your eyes, you can actually mute or block a player.
Again slurs were never a problem. Been playing since 2016 and never remember any problem with slurs….
Omg are you really comparing a job firing you to someone (who you can silence at any time) saying words over the internet.
You’re the problem. Seek help.
Not how the system works unfortunately. Even if you are the nicest person on earth, enough sore losers on the enemy team will get you banned.
There is no “normal” when it comes to Overwatch. If you speak, you’re banned.
They do not believe that once they are the victims of toxicity. All of a sudden they get it. They act hard and into banter, but if you say something mean, it’s all tears! They can pretend it does not bother them all they want; however, the truth cares not for their posturing.
Oh, yeah. Do they actually believe they are distancing themselves by actively defending toxicity? 
Right? Soft as hell.
Anyways, I just love making fun of them because I am actually toxic.

More parctical advice.
Remember these two which could be unintuitive for the newcomers.
- Don’t play tanks because they’re the first target when your team is losing
- Be nice and friendly to the apparent trolls, botters and throwers as they are the ones who report the most from my experience
What is the fun in that?
The entire point of playing online is to be silly and stupid. If I wanted to act like I do in real life I would get hobbies that involved real life.

The trick is to just be silly and stupid in real life too. That way you can just be yourself wherever you go! As long as you are silly and stupid. Otherwise that’s just being fake!

It is a gradient, real life has certain degrees that you can go, online you can tilt that meter until it breaks.
I feel bad for anyone getting false banned. But I am also glad that Bliz is starting to take a real stand against poor behavior, because PvP games are notoriously known for poor behavior; for decades now. It sucks and detracts so much from the games for a lot of people, so I’m happy to see any change in the other direction.
Yes, but your trolling often goes completely under the radar. It affects people without being openly abusive. Only the very best trolls can get away with that, so I think you all deserve a pass.
