sometimes i meet players whose movement is so good u just cant hit em…they win most 1v1 situations by not having good aim but really good movement…do these players use different patterns than just straight A D spam? fast A D spam is not best always?
Against snipers I will literally stand still and just move when they shoot because I end up recognizing their shooting patterns. So if you have that ability to do that you’ll strafe unpredictably (i.e hold A, randomly tap D then Hold A again). Against non semi auto targets tho? A and D spam or the same unpredictable movement pattern but just slightly faster.
some people have been playing fps games for 10+ years, especially fps games where movement is one of the most important aspects like arena shooters.
I swear sometimes I’ll see an enemy a/d strafing, and as soon as I plant my crosshair to let them walk into it, they instinctively switch it up and start moving away from where I’m planted. Or as soon as I try to mirror strafe they switch it up.
It’s just a habit you build from experience.
Well be unpredictable for example better Lucio’s always switch up from speed amp to heal just to mess up with other player predictions.
Edit: don’t be rhythmic with your movement, because if you keep ADAD the other player doesn’t have to move crosshair at all, they will just wait till your head is on their crosshair and shoot.
why i have heard then that u should A D spam in this game? do u mean i should thrown in some crouches and sometimes hold A or D longer and not just spam them?
I am maybe one of them. I don’t have a brilliant aim but I can move like hell hehehe.
Just WASD and jump technics haha
It depends on the character and their animations. With how the game smoothes animations, spamming a/d too fast just causes you to jitter in place and your hitbox isn’t actually moving much at all.
Crouching is useful because some characters seriously move their critbox. Good examples are tracer and moira. Other characters don’t much much at all like torbjorn. Crouching also usually depends on who you’re fighting against. Like sometimes I’ll see pro tracers a/d crouch spam against widows, but never hanzo’s (my assumption is that crouching makes you likely to crouch into a headshot that was aimed at your body).
A really good place to get a feel for the optimal a/d crouch pattern is one of those third person custom lobbies.
Long hours of practice.
People on PC can use Macro’s.
You get banned for using macros.
If you use macros you will get banned eventually because that’s detectable by their anti-cheat system and also against the CoC.
Most just have certain movement patterns like ADDADDAAD or AADAADADAADD that they repeat depending on the hero. Some heroes like Cree are better of with slow long movements while a soldier or tracer can go ham on their movement just aiming at the general direction of the opponent’s neck. It really depends on the hero
