Didn’t she just copy the OR15-A models from the ones that were fighting in the time period of the Honor and Glory cinematic, and make it look a bit different? And remove the sword? Has anyone considered this?
I guess all she really invented was the supercharger and the gun.

To be fair, I want you to find another 11-year-old that can program robots

Orisa is continously learning and nearly self aware

Her goal was to make a good robot. It was done on purpose to use the OR-15. She had to hack the companies AI and security functions. Than rebuild the AI from the ground up. Basically a kid showed up a lot of companies that tried to make nice/accepted robots.

I suppose Efi is what happens when you don’t purposely keep information from someone the first 18 years of their life /shrug
Well technically she didn’t copy the OR-14 model. The Numbani Government, or Omnium did when they made the OR-15’s. (Assuming what we saw in Reinhardt’s short were OR-14’s, and not just their predecessors).
When the project got scrapped after them being utterly wrecked by Doomfist, Efi picked them up and made a custom one, the OR-15-A (Orisa), which considering the difficulties of programming an actual AI and not something that mimicks it, is impressive on it’s own even ignoring the upgrades that Efi put into Orisa that makes her a significant upgrade, especially against Doomfist, over her counterparts.

The whole young genius trope is just anoyying.
Yeah a 10-12 year old knows how to do all this with no previous knowledge/study/experience totally makes sense… /s
Its just lazy writing.

Well she created the AI that is Orisa, and programmed her to do all sorts of things.

Orisa is an upgraded OR-15, AKA: OR15A (Orisa), built specifically to deal with DoomFist, the Supercharger and the Fortify are new features that her predecessors lacked.
An eleven year old African girl programmed a robot cow lady to learn from her mistakes and do her job well? She also put her together from the parts of failed robots. So yeah, she’s not a genius at all.

Marvel’s Riri Williams is also a 15-year-old girl genius.
She didn’t come up with her own designs either, and “merely” reverse-engineered a crappier version of Stark’s Ironman armor.
Then she needed the help of Tony’s AI to operate the armor in most cases.
Still genius, since she’s a kid who has the technical knowledge of an engineer with decades of experience.
Being a genius doesn’t automatically make people creative.

I mean in Efi’s story, it’s basically been said that she’s been tinkering with Robots for years already. She didn’t just decide to make Orisa one day.
She got the grant that she used to make Orisa because she was already a notable inventor specializing in robotics and AI.

I don’t think you get how smart you have to be to build program functioning robots.

artificially intelligent robots who learn to protect an entire city*

Yeah but an 11 year old reverse engineering anything would be considered a genius
(not to mention she reverse engineered blackhole technology from Russia)
OR-15 = robot slave that only knows how to protect (I think, no one really knows what they were like)
Orisa = Robo-mom that is nearly self-aware and is constantly learning
pretty good for an 11-year old if you ask me

Years… Even though she is 11.
Yeah, no, I just can’t buy it. SHES 11 how is she doing this?
Plenty of young genius types in movies (black panther bein the most recent) that just make no sense.
Genious enough that she got a 60 million dollar grant to build Orisa from the designs of OR15 lol.
You don’t throw that kind of money at 12-year olds as investment for no reason.
