If they added the Archives missions and all their variants to the Missions tab in the “Play” section permanently since Archives missions haven’t returned throughout 2023 unlike the other events that did (Lucioball, Mei Snowball and Yeti, Junkenstein, CTF comp and the faster version). Oh and they would be free and all heroes version would be there too. Would you use it more often?
Seeing as I only played the Kings Row mission from the Invasion nonsense, yes. It would mean I would use it at all.
I should add I enjoyed those modes in OW1 quite a bit.
Also its kinda harsh that 100% achievement completion is impossible since 29 of them can only be gotten in Archives. This would fix that too.
Yeah, I mean, why not? Players have had no means of getting those achievement sprays for over a year at this point, and they have fully made levels that the team has worked very hard on just sitting there. They might just be biding their time for whatever reason, but just put it in now. With no warning! Wouldn’t that be cool?
Of course, there are a few complications. The ordeal with McCassidy in Retribution specifically. (bona fera signora) But I say don’t worry about those.
Heck! You can even use the alternative routes built into the maps for some varied gameplay and -gasp- replayability! (i know you kids love that) Like the payload in Uprising turns left instead of right or the hotel in Retribution is blocked in so they have to take an alternative route or there’s a Talon blockade in Havana so they have to take an alternative route. By the way, have you noticed that the maps that they’ve added additional spots to are the ones they’ve used for Archives? Neat, huh?
Yeah, and another thing. Bring Underworld back. It was unironically the best designed mission they had.
Now I don’t know how accurate this is, but I do remember when they were talking about OW2 originally, they said all the systems had to be rebuilt because of the modified engine.
So even though OW2 looks like OW1 Lite, you couldn’t just “import” the old missions over.
Like I said, I don’t know how accurate this is and they obviously were able to bring in workshop modes and Dr. Junkenstein, but those could’ve been easier to rebuild if that were actually the case. If they would all need to be rebuilt, I can see that making it likely we never get Elixo’s idea or if we do, it’ll be a while.
Oh yeah, totally.
The least the team could do is have some sort of Mission of the Day that would give players bonus coins for completing. That way players would actually have some sort of reason to hop onto the missions and have people to play along with.
What about 100 gold coins for every archives achievement completed. In total you would get 2900
Nah, then it’d be a mess for queueing. And way too generous on their part. Besides, once you have all the achievements, then there’s no point in playing them again. If you want people to play your levels and CONTINUE to play them, then there needs to be something.
Final suggestion… Archives PvE units available in workshop/custom games. One is basically Mauga. Another is Widowmaker. Then theres literal Orisa and Bastion. In other words, some will be skins of characters while others will be PvE exclusive units
Good idea, but it’s too soon to do anything like that. Genuinely.
none, i dont play OW for a pve experience.
just as much as i use it now
not. at. all.
I’d love to revisit the last two Junkenstein modes. With that many different modes available at once though, I wonder if teams would mostly be bots. Hopefully not.
Were any of these modes ever editable in workshop? Would love to have them in workshop all year long.
