How many people should i be hacking as sombra in a 19 minute match?

i have 46 hacks with 17 people emp’d and i dont know if that is any good, also general tips with her?

How many assists you getting?

You can track assist? It is really hard to keep track of that when everything is poured into eliminations.

For some heroes (like Sombra, Lucio, Zen, Mercy) you can track offensive assists. In sombra’s case, it’s whoever dies when recently Hacked. Heroes like Doomfist, McCree, Hog, also have a way to track assists, but those heroes usually kill their target and it doesn’t count. And then heroes like Genji, Pharah, Tracer, they don’t track Assists.

An assist is basically landing CC on the enemy or buffing your teammate. Not all heroes can do CC or buff their team, so they don’t get assists on principle.

Really, I never noticed that on any heroes that I play, so I don’t really keep track of it.

  • Be close to your team rather than flanking a lot. Usually the enemy has some heroes that dive your team anyway, hacking these is very strong
  • spam translocator, it has a very short cooldown. Don’t forget that destroying it manually results in just a 2 sec cooldown
  • Don’t have your backup translocator too far from the action. You want to minimize downtime
  • hunt down Zenyattas and Widows. They don’t need to be hacked
  • sadly your gun is trash against armor, and also trash against small hitboxes. Communicate a lot and try to hack people already under fire.
  • Use EMP out of cloak, with a translocator nearby. You don’t want to be surrounded by 6 angry enemies without one.

Don’t worry too much about it. Hack doesn’t need to kill to be useful

A good thing to aim for on a simple level, is for your assists to be over 50% of your hacks. That’s not always on you, because it requires team follow up. It sounds to me like you had an alright game.
The best piece of advice I can give is to count down your emp’s, say “emp in 3-2-1” and use try to have a combo with your teammates.

Since assists aren’t something people tend to look at, I’m gonna go on a limb and say it’s pretty good. That means about 45% of your Hacks resulted in someone’s death
