I had a lot of heroes in my hero pool but not all of them. I stopped playing a lot of heroes because it was hurting my performance with some so i rather focus my skills on my best heroes.
I’ve been trying to play an even amount of everyone, and yeah I love mystery lol. Lately I haven’t been getting much time in on dps tho for… obvious reasons
Also yeah I cannot stand Sigma every time he speaks I want to die. “Enemy turret theory: disproven” dude shut up
When I still played, I did play every hero. I also did role specific seasons where I played only one role the entire season to see if I can maintain my rank - to my suprise I climbed every season.
Same. But, I feel 222 restricts that ability, quite a lot, in my opinion.
Same. But, its a little RNG heavy, if youre trying to get your weekly boxes with it.
Im in a similar boat. Im sure if one tricked or (sub) role specialized, Id probably be higher up the ladder. Putting hundreds of hours into one hero, or a small subset of Heroes, is more beneficial, in that regard, than putting hundreds of hours into dozens heros (almost 32, at this point).
While I enjoy Mystery Heroes… I don’t really “play” every hero in the game.
It depends what you mean by “play”. I know people that say they speak German and Spanish when they only can say “Sprechen sie Deutsch?” and “Hola” with no other knowledge.
I would say I can really play; Widow, Ashe, Tracer, Sombra, Moira, Mercy, Ana, and DVA to my highest level. Using basic game sense I can be effective with the others, but not to the extent of a person who mains them.
I believe a Jack of all Trades in Overwatch is not that great. You don’t truly master any of them, and in the world of Role Queue where flex players are now eradicated… its more of a liability that you may not be as proficient at DPS/Support/Tank solely as your counterparts are.
It’s fun to explore and play the other heroes just to have fun. But to actually play comp, etc.? Nah… I stay to my mains. I think people should try to master 2 heroes per role ideally.
Right. Though, even you (indirectly) said you probably be high, if you didnt play every hero. While that dude saying “no one above Plat” is a bit of a jerk thing to, I understand their General point.
Maybe if you one tricked or role specialized, maybe you would be a rank higher or something. But, I assume, first and foremost, you play the game for enjoyment purposes. And, if you enjoy playing every hero, you definitely should play every hero. And, if that “hurts” your Rank (like, youre not in Masters, because of it), i say: “Who cares?”
Honestly, this is a video game, after all. You should do what brings you enjoyment. Things like Comp Rank and all that should be secondary, in my opinion. The only time that being competitive should be in the #1 slot is if you’re a pro, or something. But, if not, this is just a game, and you should enjoy yourself
It depends. Yeah, having a McCree one trick is awesome, when you really need a McCree. But, if you need a Mei, theyre near worthless. That can be the drawback of one tricking or (sub) role specializing, like Hitscan DPS.
On the other hand, while someone who plays all DPS heroes might not give you that “Master McCree” kind of player, they wont be worthless, if you need/want something like: Torb, Sym, Sombra, or whatever.
When it comes to support, which is my main role, I play everyone except Zen.
Even tho I absolutely loveZen, whenever I play him I feel too vounerable and also too inmobile. Sadly not a character I could ever imagine to play actively, despite the fact that he has one o fthe strongest ultimates in the game and you are basically playing another DPS (discord and he has a lot of DMG to offer).
Lets move on to the DPS, shall we?
I have never been a person who likes to take the DMG role and kick some booteys. I always have been the more protective and caring player.
But there are some DPS which I enjoy playing and got either decent or good with them.
I like to play Symmetra, Ashe, Widowmaker, Sombra, Pharah and Mei. Nooooot a lot of variety, am I right?
I would absolutely love to be able to play Genji for example but I know I could never. Or at least not with the time I can offer right now.
But okay. DPS and Supports done. Last one. Tanks. Oh boy oh boy.
I really dislike this class.
I am a passive player, I like to peel and heal for my mates, get excited when they kill stuff with my help etc. but what I dislike is being the DMG sponge for them.
But I still play tank from time to time. D.va would be my go to pick, followed by Hog and actually Orisa. (Yep, dont @ me please xD)
That should summ up every role and every hero which I play.
I have played every hero for a few hours. But, like, I am not going to play something unfun. Half the reason I have not played this game since Borderlands 3 launched.
I prefer only about four or five heroes in the entire game. There are heroes who I won’t play because I don’t have fun on them or I think they are unfair or horrifically cheap. Doomfist, Road Hog, Brig, Zarya, Zenyatta, Torb, and D.va.
If my team needed me to play one of those they are just out of luck.
Some, not all, of those get exceptions in mystery heroes.
