I’m just curious about this. Oftentimes I see people on the forums who say they don’t play the game anymore, but they still stick around the forums to read or join in on discussions (myself included, I haven’t actually played the game in months).
If you do play OW2, why? Do you still enjoy the game, do you hope things will get better, or is it something else? If you don’t play OW2 anymore, what keeps you on the forums?
I’ve never posted anything on here before, but I wanted to hear people’s thoughts on this.
I usually gain interest for about a season then leave for 2, then come back for a season and leave for another 2. But I always check on the forums.
This game is manageable if you play in chunks.
The game is just unplayable imo because the matchmaking.
But other things are:
-no progression
-battlepass that is not worth grinding
Pretty much not playing the game is a win situation. Not missing out on anything and not getting annoyed either.
I play a lot 400 something hours in combined in season 2 and 3
find myself playing less not because I don’t like the game but because I’m busier now I find the game really fun but I like to stay away form the negative sides of the game
Just the Hybrid game mode. Occasionally QP just lock Moira or Ram and don’t care.
I play every new balance patch for about a day before the glaring issues creep back and make me stop till the next. I love the core gameplay and characters but 5v5 single tanking is the most infuriating change blizzards ever done.
Games quality decreased, and they created a monster with JQ that it is not even fun anymore if you don’t want to play counter picks and just chill in unranked.
Unranked became sweater and sweater, people try hard like crazy, and you are taken into hostage of your tank, if they pick the wrong one and are hard countered and don’t know what to swap to, just gg next.
I’ve played OW since launch. This has been my go-to game since coming over from TF2; despite everything, this game has good bones and scratches an itch better than most games I’ve played.
I don’t have a lot of game time these days, so OW2 usually happens on Fri or Sat night when we can all meet up on discord. I was honestly looking forward to the PvE content they teased, because PvP can get kinda stale. Now that’s gone, I’m struggling to find an interest to play. I know, it has little to do with the PvP aspect of the game, and every gaming company does their players bad at some point. I just need to branch out and play more games (multiplayer) honestly. May give DRG a try. Apex is a game they like to play, but it just never stuck for me. Tried Paladins and it just wasn’t it. Done being disappointed with the Battlefield franchise, and will never buy into that despite how hyped my friends get saying it looks like they’re returning to BF3/BF4. Borderlands is great but we’ve exhausted that one. Haven’t tried Destiny 2. I’m just rambling, thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
I still play it almost daily and probably will in the future. The game is still a lot of fun and you have to admit Overwatch is a really unique game because of that I fell in love with the franchise years ago. Of course, I hope that the situation will get better at some point, but at the moment I don’t see a bright future for Overwatch. It’s very sad to see your favorite franchise/game go down the drain due to mismanagement and greed. But even though I don’t see a future for the game at the moment I still hope they manage to rebuild trust with the players and give us the game we deserve.
I play a lot since OW1 launch. I do myself a favour by taking breaks here and there. I don’t treat the game like my life source. It’s a game I enjoy and play whenever I want to play.
Yeah, I definitely agree with this. I loved OW when it first came out and I used to play it almost everyday, but I stopped shortly after OW2 came out. It’s kind of a shame to see what it turned into. Hopefully things get better but I’m starting to doubt it.
I haven’t had it installed in months. It’s unrewarding and unfun and there’s no point in playing anymore. Role queue sucks, 5v5 sucks, the monetization sucks, the matchmaking sucks, the new competitive rank system sucks.
I stopped playing a couple months ago because i just don’t see a future for the game anymore and there’s no reason to play:
I can’t earn anything worthwhile anymore
Can’t get good matches do to horrible matchmaking and Balancing (screw you widow)
playing competitive doesn’t sound fun because I’m constantly sweating and playing in a toxic environment to try and rank up in a game that i don’t even know will last long
and they’ll be no new content that it’ll be worth reinstalling the game for, ooo a new lazy event that’s just an excuse to sell skins, ooo a new character can’t wait to try him out for 20min and then hop off cuz it’s still more or less the same game.
I ain’t reinstalling until a miracle happens
I’ve never stopped since OW1 beta. Even when things aren’t perfect, it’s the best PvP game on the market. Nothing else even comes close for me. My friends and I play more than ever now.
It has the fewest connection issues, most diversity of play styles, and best maps/modes of anything I’ve ever played. There are zero other FPS games where I like all the maps/guns, but it’s how I feel about this one.
how does role queue and 5v5 suck? didn’t goats kill overwatch? and with supports having so much healing now that would probably bring goats back and make it even worse no?
I deleted it, but I want to make youtube content talking about how mishandled it is, and I can’t do that without playing it to accurately judge the content myself. I’m considering just not doing that and scrapping the whole youtube project so that I can avoid playing it.
I’ve made 3D assets, some even Overwatch inspired, so I’ll have to think about what I’m doing with those before I decide anything. Playing OW2 isn’t the end of the world, but I like to stay away from things that annoy me.
Even if I play again, I certainly will never spend a single dime on that shop, so I think I’ll avoid talking about the battle pass and the skins altogether.
Still enjoy the game a lot. I don’t go for any of the paid stuff, but loving comp on the free game.
You speak the truth my guy
I play it , but 0 cents. I m not invensting nothing in the garbage pass they made .
