The maximum amount of free coins you can earn has increased for two reasons
- You used to earn up to 540 coins total for earning 60 each week in a 9 week season, while the battlepass now awards 600 coins per 9 week season
- There is a constant number of seasons (6) per year, and some seasons need to be cut short to stay within this window, so you can’t actually get those full 540 coins each season.
The second one is subject to change, but it is how they did it last year and seems to make logical sense since if you move season dates too much then over time you will have stuff like only getting 2 heroes in a year and getting 4 the next or having holiday events that don’t fit neatly within a season
So in total, you get 3600 coins for completing all 6 battle passes in a year, compared to 3120 for completing all 52 weeks of weeklies in a year, netting you 480 extra coins, but in reality most of us weren’t doing all of those weeklies, so here is a table to help you gauge how much more you’re actually getting.
The columns represent the percentage of weeks you play each season, and the rows represent how many of the coins you were getting from weeklies each week, and each cell represents how many more coins you are getting each year now assuming you finish every battlepass. So if you usually only finish the first set of weeklies, and you play around half of the weeks, then you now are earning 2820 extra coins every year
