How many heroes?

Is there an end goal on hero numbers, like stop at 35, 40, 50, or is it just gonna be an evergrowing roster until the game dies?

I think 50 is a good number to stop at. I’d like to see at least 10 tanks and 10 supports.

50 seems okay. I don’t think they’ve ever stated a final roster number.

the more heroes the more difficult to balance or else they will have to start rotations.

Look at the struggle with “only” 25~ heroes lmao

They’ve said that they pitched the game with a list of 50 heroes, and that they’re still drawing from it today. But who knows if all of them would make the game.

Assuming they continue to release 3 heroes a year, we would get the 50th hero in 2025. Overwatch would be about to turn 10. That’s certainly a pretty good life cycle for a game if they can make it happen

They might stop at 50, but the world could always use more heroes.

Some speculate 52 total heroes, because of the little playing card sprays - if everyone had a card, that would be a full deck. I’m guessing they will have at least 50.

Its probably going to come down to the amount of heroes that they have when they feel like making OW2. At a rate of four heroes a year it’ll be absurd to think they’d even get to like 40 since that would be another like what, five years? Its hard to think OW will still be super popular at that point unless it pulls a TF2 and manages to stay alive for an absurd time.
