I’m sorta new to overwatch and I’m around silver to gold in the 4 comp modes, does anyone know how long or how many seasons it would take to get a gold gun at this rank?
Kinda depends on how much you want to grind since winning gives you comp points
The new bonus might be capped at only one role which would be a huge nerf. You will mostly be getting them from wins as a lower ranked player. It depends on your playtime and win to loss. I would estimate an average player would unlock a gold gun every 2 seasons, or so.
I spent 3,000 comp points at the start of the season to buy Kiriko’s golden weapon and was left with around zero.
439 comp games this season and bought another golden weapon and slapped it onto Moira.
Depends if you plan to grind comp everyday or just do placements per season.
I don’t like comp and didn’t want to play more than just placements and it took me about 3 or 4 seasons of doing just placements for each role as well as OQ. Also doing placements for any other random comp modes that popped up during the year, so like comp team deathmatch, comp lucioball, comp CTF etc.
So doing it that way, and placing bronze in tank, silver in dps, gold in support, platinum in OQ, and various random ranks in the other modes all the way from bronze to diamond, I was able to collect my golden gun within a year.
But I’m not even sure if you get the same comp points anymore, it doesn’t show in game like it used to when you right click the comp tabs, and I think they also specifically said they were limiting something about how they hand out comp points, so might be different now.
All in all, you can probably do it quicker just grinding comp daily, but not sure how much you like comp or how easy it is to secure wins in OW2 comp.
Yep, whatever your highest rank is will get the points. Not points from each rank in each comp mode.
