Just that. I mean, what does mercy do? Can she rez? Can she fly freely? Honestly i would love to see her appearing on a cinematic, even if she’s not the main character, just showing how she is.
All we have seen is the first cinematic, mercy hovering to someone, and that’s it.
Or is there any comic that shows this already that i haven’t seen yet?
I guess that the actual mercy is more likely to be the mercy on the lore than the old one because of valkyrie.

I assume she can’t resurrect people in lore. But she can save people on deaths door. Of course people don’t respawn in lore, so it’s probably stylistic for the game.

h ttps://overwatch.gamepedia.com/Mercy
The only story about her is she saved genji. You know, xxxchu’s favorite style.
Yes, i know that. I’m not talking about her lore, but more like how does valkyrie suit and mercy in general work in overwatch lore?
I’m sure she has free flight, as in the first cinematic it shows her flying down from the Hevans.
But she can not rez. It was confirmed that it is only an in game ability I’m 99% sure. Which is why I find it ironic that other Mercy players claim Rez is her defining feature. IMO it’s Guardian Angel. Lore-wise and gameplay wise.

We don’t know HOW it works per se, but we do know she studied biomedical engineering which means at the least her healing is partly mechanized in delivery. Either aerosol or nanobots most likely. The suit itself doesn’t have propulsion that we can see, but we do know she worked on the design herself and torb helped build it. There’s not a lot of mechanical lore (which I’m super interested in sadly).
Sometimes, game lore is not to be explained. Otherwise I’d love to know exactly where Widowmaker keeps her ammo cache.

True it isn’t always necessary. I just personally find it interesting to know. However I don’t want in game oddities explained (unlimited ammo, respawn, etc) explained, as they’re ganeplay aspects, not lore ones. I don’t find knowing all of how she works necessary, but I do find their explanations interesting.
Here goes theoretical science.
I believe the Overwatch world is saturated with nanotech. Easily pliable to do a task. Mercy just had the technology to make these nanobots do her bidding and repair things. Or improve damage output.
The suit is really a flying equipment, for G.A and Angelic Descent. Maybe pairs it up with self regeneration.
Since it seems the world has managed to shrink power sources to tiny bits, I’d say the resurrect tech is simply flooding your system with healing bots and giving you essentially a reset.

Respawn can be explained by use of clones in battle. When they fall, they are eliminated by nanotech and reconstituted at spawn room.
the only lore i know is she saved gabji and created reaper. atleast thats what iv been told. something about reaper being a failed exsperament or some sort to revive someone or some such thing.
as for how she works. id have to say nanites. for her staff to heal people. and revive them. she might not beable to bring people back from the dead but she can bring them back from deaths door as someone above said.
her flight might be michanicly made. she does not realy " fly " in game as much as glide ( she only flys during her ult and thats only for a few seconds before its over )) which leads me to belave that her flight is astedic and a custom device attached to her back makeing the wings not realy real. but machanical like the rest of her kit.
past that. this is all guessing and theory
Moira created Reaper - not Mercy.

hay like i said it was what i was told so some facts might be wrong
If that’s what you think then start counting all the times Pharah has done something useful in a cinematic. I’ll wait.
If anything, Pharah needs it more.
Nawh I think its actually a battle simulation. but it’s just us (the ai) forever fighting for eternity playing out all possibilities.
We do know that Mercy created the “biotic technology” used in Ana’s gun. We also know that she and Moira worked together closely. We do know that Moira has either brought people back from the dead or close to it (Reaper) so there is a possibility that resurrection is real.
Mercy doesn’t resurrect anyone who’s been dead for more than ten seconds, so it’s not like she’s undoing days of decay like Moira may have been doing with Reyes. She’d be regenerating some (presumably still living) tissue to repair injuries just like she normally does, and then jumpstarting the body’s systems. So probably doable.
Then again Mercy’s biotic technology is probably way stronger in game than it is in the lore. I mean. In the game, you can eat any point-blank explosion or laser beam or spirit dragon and it doesn’t matter, Mercy heals it right up. In the lore, Mercy had build Genji an entirely new cybernetic body, presumably because she couldn’t repair the damage done by Handsoap’s ult.
Also I feel like if Mercy could actually 1-to-200 all her patients in 3 seconds, that would be a much bigger deal in the lore. Maybe she can only heal that fast when she’s dealing with very fresh wounds, but probably it’s just gameplay things.
As for GA… There is absolutely zero lore about the Valkyrie suit, but GA and Angelic Descent are perfectly possible. I mean, I assume that Pharah’s Raptorion suit is canon, and Mercy’s Valkyrie suit basically does the same thing (boosting and hovering) without the armor and rockets.
There is another Valkyrie suit in the game (Moira’s) but Moira doesn’t fly; her movement abilites are apparently based on self-experimentation with the same technology that makes Reaper go all whispy. So it could be just Mercy’s Valkrie suit that flies. Or maybe Moira’s suit is the only one that doesn’t fly. Or maybe they’re all unique. Or maybe Valkyrie suits are just fancypants medic uniforms and they don’t actually have any powers of their own. Hoo noes.

To be fair, pharah got a comic. Lots of hero’s haven’t had even that.

Lots of heros haven’t got cinematics either. Pharah has little lore outside of being a soldier, which at this point has become moot since many other heros have been expanded beyond just their job.
