How is Hero win rate calculated?

Specifically when switching heroes. Is time played a factor?

Here’s a exaggerated example:

If I played Bastion for 60 games, won 30 and lost 30. But the games that I won took a total of 12 hours and the games I lost took a total of 8 hours. What would my win rate be on bastion. Would it be 50/50 or something else?

Another example:

If every time I’m sure we’re going to win, I switch to widow, to bolster her win percentage. But then sometimes I actually play a hole match with her (and usually loose) Will the time played have any effect on the win percentage, or does merely an appearance on Widow constitute an entire game played, when calculating Individual Hero Win Percentage?

Thank You

OW devs make it sound simple as just W/L ratios, regardless of how many heroes you picked for the match. They all get tagged when you select them and engage with them. Unless You are asking a question more in regards to Personal SR to W/L ratio. That question they wont ever give you a straight answer for because their algorithm is broken because it favors the team W/L over personal performance.

It’s weighted by how long you played them for during the match compared to the match length. Basically, if you switch to Widow last second on a win, it won’t boost your win rate anywhere close to a significant amount.

I trust you, but can you link anything?

It was something I tested myself when I first got an alt account. I don’t have the spreadsheet anymore though.

It’s based on time played during the match. So 12 hours vs 8 would be 60% win rate.
