How is Gigantic compared to Overwatch?

I heard Gigantic is coming back and the game looks pretty cool. People say its also a MOBA hybrid like Overwatch and can even be a possible competitor.

Is/was it a good game?

I loved gigantic, had a blast playing it with my friends when it came out. Itā€™s definitely worth a try.

Low poly characters donā€™t really compete well against AAA games. Overwatch will probably remain the top hero shooter option on the market + itā€™s far easier to understand than Gigantic.

Gigantic is much like Paladins in the sense that it may not be as visually appealing as x or y game, but the gameplay is solid.

Unfortunately the game shut down. I heard there are some guys trying to make another game based off of it, similar to how Paragon has people trying to resurrect that game. I honestly donā€™t think much will come of that, but yeah, it was fun while it lasted.

Now go back and get hooked by hog.

It seems nice enough, but is also significantly more complicated. Much more MOBA-ish.

I regret that I didnā€™t try it the first time around, so I will definitely give a try this time.
Now we just need a re-launch of Law Breakers again - I would give that a try as well.

i rather play gigantic than paladins if that helps.
ow is a top dog and in its own world imho.

almost cried when i heard its re releasing.

It is a good alternative game it has some fun systems and stuff, itā€™s also third-person and so mobility can be crazy good on some heroes.Its also a bit more moba leaning.

It wouldnā€™t be fair to compare it to overwatch.

Overwatch is a different beast nothing can match it generally closest would be tf2 and palladins.

But these games donā€™t need to compete with overwatch, they can exist with overwatch and promote more hero team shooters.

The reason overwatch is a beast is it was born from the remains of a much bigger and expensive project.
it had resources and depth , talent others didnā€™t have.

Donā€™t get your hopes up too much though, itā€™s more of a Randy pitchfard money grab.

I dug around their discords, the people turning on the servers donā€™t know the game stuff, they are basically turning servers in releasing the two already worked on heroes and thatā€™s that, they said they canā€™t do new stuff but will focus on maintenance.

That said the game is still solid.

Also remember itā€™s based on ue 3 so many of those engine bugs will still be there.

It is a game from 2013, more or less similar to OW, but in third person, with skills that evolve as the game progresses, and with mechanics more similar to a moba.
The game was very fun, but it had a lot of problems due to its investors who kept sabotaging the developers, and like most games of this style, people accused Gigantic of being a copy of OW, even though that Gigantic was in beta about a year before OW was announced, but that did not stop the developers from being heavily harassed, and constantly receiving criticism for supposedly copying designs that they had shown before OW
