A virtually unkillable hero with 8sec cooldown for an ability that one-shots almost everyone, has a 20m range and isn’t even hard to hit? And, on top of that, he gives 25% less ult charge for damaging him, but not for healing him?
Yes, a tank duo like Rein+Zar, Winston+Zar, Orisa+Sigma is probably preferable to a comp with Roadhog, but it requires a completely different level of skill and cooperation (which you’re not getting in comp).
So Hog just dominates comp, because you can’t kill him alone and certainly can’t get more value than him w/o a lot of cooperation.
Is this fair or fun for anyone except Roadhog players?

Ana doesn’t counter Roadhog. Usually, she barely interacts with him, because she plays far back. If you think that sleep dart and antinade will save your teammates from getting hooked and instakilled, then you should probably play some more Ana.
And if you play close enough to consistently land darts and nades on Hog, then you’re close enough for him to consistently land hooks on you.

Fixed it for you…. There was a big mistake.
Ana absolutely destroys Hog, you acknowledge that the teams aren’t playing well down there, so abuse it. Pay attention to the enemies hogs actions and punish their misplays.
If you think Ana messing hog up is situational, than you need to spend more time with Ana to better understand positioning and cooldown management.
You should be landing almost every one of your sleeps and nades on a hog by the way, if you think it’s not easy, spend time until it is easy.

The problem with Hog in low ranks is even after you sleep and nade him you still need at least one or two other teammates to look at him. It’s nearly impossible to 1v1 a Hog that’s why everyone hates him so much in death match.
They also get mad when you solo shatter them and even then it’s still not a guaranteed kill. Yet they will solo you with their whole hog any chance they get and bag you afterwards if your body is still on the map.

Yeah, but at that point hog is just ult charge. It may not be as great, but once that low ranking hog lost his hook, and likely used his healing during anti, they aren’t gonna be doing much. He’s not gonna be doing a ton for their team.
I also probably wouldn’t be solo shattering a hog……

I do enjoy playing against Hog as a Lucio, since I enjoy doing damage more than healing it and Hog helps me a lot with gaining free Ult Charge, not to mention how easy it is to dodge his hook as well as easily save a hooked teammate with a boop!

Its funny to see that in the thread you say “You cant kill him alone” (which is why Overwatch is a team game you idiot) and then try to 1v1 someone with the Ana vs hog matchup. Like who do you think you’re proving yourself too? Ana ‘supports’ killing hog with anti and sleep. If your team isn’t literally shooting him, which I know is hard to get cooperation in solo queue, then it’s just gg go next.
Don’t go on tangents trying to 1v1 someone in the replies here on forums for some reason cause you’ve been on teams who don’t remember its a team game. I get its frustrating to queue for dps who can never kill anything for the life of them but either grab a friend, look for a group, or just solo queue and try to carry more. That’s all you can do with the state of the game now in metal ranks.

What are you even talking about? Did you think someone was trying to play a Hog vs Ana 1v1?
I offered a 1v1 because I was called trash by someone and I saw he was a DPS player. Offering a 1v1 is as useless of an argument as calling me trash. But, if somebody’s going to use that as an argument, then the response would be to compare our skill levels by playing 1v1. If he’s worse than me, then he has no grounds to call me trash and dismiss my argument because of that.
It wouldn’t be the most comprehensive comparison of skill (OW is a team game blah blah), but it wouldn’t be completely meaningless. Besides, win or lose, I love 1v1.

His ability to one shot more than 50% of the roster without much skill required?
Or the best self - sustain ability in the entire game binded to his E, which undoes almost every single one of his positioning mistakes, despite the fact that his main objective as a hero is “punishing” others who dare positive themselves inside his massive 20m range?
Thank God he’s hard - countered by the widely - played Ana, because not even Reaper hard - counters him anymore and he’s being played in every single match according to my experience.
Honestly, he needs a hard - rework. However, his one - shot combo shouldn’t be fixed before Junkrat’s, which takes even less skill to pull off.

I have won some 1v1 against hog with ana before…You can nade or sleep dart way beyond his hook range.

If all you care is 1v1 performance, yes hog is kinda op(Same goes for other heros with CC and selfheal) But, in a team game, hog is not OP, as a tank, he trade off the barrier/matrix ablities for a more offensive ablity. Hog provide less value to his team, so in order to make that up, he need to get more picks in early fight. He also have a less powerful ult compares to most other tanks. If hog dont have that kind of self heal, he will be a throw pick, because as a tank with no barrier or armour and moblity, he will take way too much healing resource from his team.
