I’m just wondering how this character was considered balanced. I was listening to spilo (a well known coach) on a kar-q video and because of the season changes her damage went up about 25%. How does this go unnoticed. She’s really hard (not impossible) to 1v1 but is really oppressive right now. My main issue with her being meta is the low if any skill ceiling it takes to play this hero. The amount of dps Moira’s running around rn is staggering makes the game pretty unfun.
Because even though her DPS increased, her time to kill remained similar. She didn’t really benefit from the projectile changes in the same way so they buffed her damage to be the same time to kill to compensate
Ok but like
Everyone elses health went up too
So her ttk only changed by like, a fraction of a second if I remember right. Her getting 25% more damage doesn’t mean anything when everyone else can take 20% more damage.
The reason she’s a popular pick right now is because she’s good against/in dive combos. She’s not broken.
Why would they nerf Moira? I have no idea why people were expecting, wanting, or needing Moira nerfs…
One could argue she vastly benefited because that giant beach ball she throws out will hit more consistently and a bigger radius when healing and damaging. On paper ttk may have not changed but put yourself in a hallway fight with or against a Moira and it’s a whole different ballgame.
Orb is unaffected by the hitbox buff.
Funny how you mentioned her orb, considering her totall TTK takes longer when using her orb and beam at the same time.
Season 8
Beam only
- 200hp ÷ 50dps = 4s
Beam + Orb - 200hp ÷ (50dps + 50dps) = 2s
Season 9
- 250hp ÷ 65dps = 3.8s
Beam + Orb - 250hp ÷ (65dps + 50dps) ≈ 2.2s
Blizzard is absolutely brain dead
Moira and Sombra and honorable mention to DVA
All three disgusting trolls
– A wise person, probably.
Or a Moira voiceline……
This is why they should split the balance between console and PC again.
I’m all for that because I can’t queue with pc friends on console because blizzard takes away aim assist. It’s not fun
That is just a lie, console players maintain their aim assist in PC lobbies.
Hopefully you’re feeling better now that you understand that Moira isn’t as overpowered as some content creator led you to believe. It’s good you came here and asked some questions, and received a better picture.
Always keep in mind that aim isn’t the only skill in this game. Don’t let it color your perception of a character. If you dig into the facts a bit more, you’ll understand why low aim characters are the way they are. They come with built in limitations or restrictions that balance their low aim requirement.
They actually updated this when OW2 launched(I think that’s when they changed it)
So go wild!
How do so many people not get it? This patch was about bringing the underperforming heroes up to the level of those performing well. This, by extension, DOES nerf the heroes performing well because all power is relative.
Is it a crazy idea to turn her RMB into a beam without autoaim? Maybe increase her damage to make up for it. You can’t balance a hero who takes literally zero skill for low and high ranks.
Nerf Tracer and other high mobility heroes current and future and there won’t be a need to have easy aim counters. Especially at lower ranks where said heroes can go uncontested without easy aim characters.
So the whole “but what about Moira in low ranks?” argument is moot when a decent Tracer is more devastating.
That’s the ONLY way. But since said Mobility characters won’t budge. Moira stays.
you’re 100% right, there’s no reason moira should be meta. it’s ok if she’s good and even dominant in metal ranks, but she should not be meta.
Try it out duo with a person on pc you will be put in pc lobbies with no aim assist.
