As a tank what i do to counter orisa?

Whou counters her?

Personally I usually go DVA or Zarya. DVA’s matrix can eat her javelin and primary. Zarya could also be good, with well timed bubbles and her beam goes through Orissa’s spin.

If you’re really struggling, go for the supports first and then the Orissa after.

tank really doesn’t counter her, Hog ult is insane against her but Orisa eats Hog for breakfast in the mid-fight.

Ramattra is pretty nice since Orisa’s hitbox is huge so you can decently poke her out with your staff and she can’t really do anything against your ult (she might push you but she’s still in radius then)

And then you can play dive tanks decently well against her if her team is spread out but if they’re all on one spot you might as well just mirror Orisa as a tank.

She’s mainly countered by Ana tbh

you can pick tanks like zarya and dva maybe rein but how you really counter her is by killing her team first .
Most of the time i just kinda ignore her and kill the rest of her team first then orisa usually follows

The best way to deal with Orisa is to deal with the supports pocketing her first. Orisa is very hard to take down if she is being hard pocketed, so there isn’t much point fighting her until her supports are gone.

Dive tanks work well, so Winston, D.Va, Wrecking Ball, and Doomfist. You want to dive past the Orisa, take out her supports (or at least at the minimum the main support) and then focus on her.

If you’re not very good at dive characters you can also go Zarya, build up your charge, and then walk past Orisa and go for her supports that way.

If all else fails, let your team know that you are having a hard time dealing with the enemy Orisa and that you need help prioritising her supports first. Hope this helps!

Ram or Zarya have been easy for me.

However, that doesn’t mean you’ll kill her. If she has even one healer on her, you’re not taking her out most likely. The most you can do is ignore her and go after them.

Convince one of your supports to run Zenyatta. Otherwise use Zarya.

Orisa’s gimmic is that she attacks from range until reaching up close, and then go for a good stall. Usually reaching her and out stalling her is the most effective tool.

  • So first option that comes to mind is D.va as her matrix can stall her shots for up to 3 seconds if I remember correctly. She also out damage Orisa up close which is always great.

  • Another great option in my opinion is Winston, not because he beats Orisa in a 1v1 but because he can ignore her pretty well. Orisa’s only advantage is her javelin spin as it can go through his bubble and push him from his targets. But if you can bait that, Winston is a great option to ignore her.

2 honorable mentions are Hammond & Zarya. Hammond because he can ignore her pretty well, but she’s immune to his knockback when using fortify, and can stun him with javelin throw. and Zarya because bubble is a decent stall against her fortify, and beam can go through her javelin spin.

i wish Ramattra’s punches went through javelin spin. it’s kinda weird that they dont

She has no real mobility and poor team protection capabilities. With her falloff nerf, she’s not even that much of a threat at range either.

I don’t think it really matters who you play so much as how you play them. Control high ground, kill squishies on the enemy team, attack targets far away from her, and/or provide greater team protection than her.

Highground, mobility, disruption - are the things that counter afk orisa players.

Tell your supports to pick Zen. Put Discord on Orisa and poof.
Congratulations she now melts just like any other tank (Except Ball) with discord on.

Pick Zarya to confront her or use a mobile dive hero to ignore her and focus on the backline such as Ball.

  1. Zenyatta allows his team to absolutely melt her.

  2. Zarya is a great pick, can bubble her javelin and ult and also pierces her javelin spin which just completely destroys orisa.

  3. D.va’s DM can eat Javelin and D.va herself can backline and kill Orisa’s squishy teammates

  4. Hanzo, Bastion, and Junkrat can dish out a lot of damage in her “downtime” phase

  5. Ramattra is a decent pick due to his range IMO and can duel her up close.

Kill her supports, hanzo is decent against her but even he cant erase her if she is constantly pumped healing.

Its vital to get supports.

So if your a tank see which tank can get their supports easily.

Its winston ball doom dive if its ana zen bap mercy etc.

If its brig moira kiri dive tanks arent great.

Go for brawl if its a brig rein rama are decent. Rein or zarya can get brig once he closes in past orissa.
conversely poking in with sigma or rama is also better if you dont have resources to support brawl

I’d agree with this. I’ve been a support keeping her up. People ignore her and go straight for me. It’s bare annoying but alas it works
