I wonder who came up with this idea of getting faster queue tickets for flex role games but in the end all we have is DPS players on TANK roles trolling the game just to get tickets…
Why does not simply think before you implement any changes that ruin the game even more…
I play mostly dps, and farm tickets on flex, I have a fairly stable 50ish percent winrate on both of my offroles, and honestly I haven’t seen any major change in the quality of my tanks since flex and the priority pass system was introduced. Most of my tanks are actually tank players, and that isn’t really a positive thing, most of them onetrick either ball, hog or sigma. Most of them have no idea of space and don’t understand the importance of peeling, tank synergies, so unless I deliberately check their profiles, I wouldn’t even be able to tell what role they are maining. I think people just got more ignorant over time, they had so many negative experiences with trying to adjust and failing to do so that they don’t even try anymore, which is a real shame
They just want “easier balance”. It should be apparent by now that trolls will take whatever power is given to them and use it against the players and the design team’s ideal.
I am mixed on it. I can’t honestly say the pass system has made a substantial change in queue times at all, but the quality of tanking is dreadful now, but Support is still reasonable.
On a level I would have to agree, most people on tank role don’t understand it. They think its just more pew-pew-pew…
100% agree - the uptick in lazy bastion play is at an all time high right now. Out of 20 matches, at least 12, maybe up to 15 had a Bastion in it now, often on accounts around 65th level (strange but true). It’s gotten so bad I am looking for them now. Players used to have more pride and skill. And no, this was going on over the past week or so, maybe in prep for the rework but hell that is still six months out… and a lot seem like players on accounts they just bought because they are slow, don’t know how to coordinate or position or even respond to obvious cues you are about to do something like dive them.
FLEX’s only goal was to get people into games faster and not improve the quality of those games. Blizzard was banking on social pressure to get people who actually get those roles to play that role correctly.
You wanna know a way that would get people excited to flex queue? Make it remotely possible to actually get a DPS position while in a flex queue. It would surprise and delight those who actually are willing to use that option. I know it’s not IMPOSSIBLE to get a DPS queue but come on, i’m disappointed when I get a SUPPORT queue while using flex. I’d be utterly baffled if I got a DPS role… but I wouldn’t hate it.
You realize if they troll, they fall to a lower rank and eventually their troll level of play is as good as the actual tanks at that rank, right? It’s been out for enough seasons that it’s not an issue anymore.
Why does not simply think before you create a thread that doesn’t make sense…
What in god’s name are you talking about? OP’s point is that people don’t care about flex roles, and so they’re losing tons of games for their teammates. Your response is that it’s ok because once they eventually cause enough losses and ruin enough games for enough people (on roles they don’t care about – making the entire throw-fest possible without any consequences) everything will be fine, and you’re saying – OP’s – post doesn’t make sense?
What OP’s saying makes perfect sense, whether you agree with it or not (or even understand what’s being said) is another story.
Thoroughly convinced you don’t actually know what you’re talking about in this case.
No…no it doesn’t. People are NO LONGER MATHEMATICALLY ABLE to just “not care” about priority pass games and lose them. His post would make sense in the first month or so of priority passes. Everyone who behaves like that has already tanked their SR to the point where they win 50/50, so those players no longer exist. His post does not make sense unless you are from the past.
Another issue is they divided the player base by having 2 separate competitive modes. This increased wait times.
note- I’ve noticed open role comp gets 2 2 2 teams often
This. I never understood why a person would scream on the mic in open q to try and enforce 222. Just go play role q then. lmao.
A person playing multiple roles is probably going a better player than a person playing only Tank.
Whether they care about playing their flex role well or not, ranking system will eventually put them where they belong, and from there they’re going to be indistinguishable from actual Tank/Support mains of that SR.
