How does the free 100 tokens for watching on twitch work?

Do you have to be active on chat or is it just random per game/hour/match etc?

Just wondering if I am doing something wrong because I do not not chat at all but I do actively watch every Thurs-sunday.

It’s a random drop. You do get small token drops for watching, and after every map(?) there’s a small chance you’ll get a 100 token drop.

I believe it’s only after the final map.

I’ve gotten ~45 3 token drops so far, still no 100 drop :frowning:

its random. just be afk and do something else and you will get it. i already got it like 4 or 5 times.

Yeah, just be like most likely 90k of the 100k viewers and put it on in the background. You’ll rack them up quickly.

Makes me wonder if sponsors will start wanting more actual viewer proof versus bots and AFK people for OWL tokens.

You can’t monitor if someone walks away from the TV, but having Twitch being an active program on a persons device versus being minimized is extremely easy to track, and something I am betting Activision/Blizzard does not want.

You guys get token drop?

I even bought the Pass (which I do like viewing pros POV), but I haven’t got a drop in 2 months now.

You have to connect your Battlenet account with your Twitch account to receive Token drops. Once you do that you’ll get 3 Tokens for each hour you watched.

Idk the drop rate, but the amount of 100x drops is determined by # of people watching. It’s at least 1% or 10% of people watching who are getting drops. The Overwatch League website should have the info in the fine print.

I did though. I have it all linked up since last year.

Urgh, I will check on that in the morning.

It’s just random, I got it for the first time a few nights ago.

Here’s the fine print if people are interested:

The number of random winners in each drawing will be determined according to the following formula: 2*SQRT(N), where “N” equals the number of eligible participants (for clarity, the number of winners will equal 2 multiplied by the square root of the number of eligible participants viewing a live stream at the end of the applicable Match).

In layman’s terms, with 100k viewers, you have a ~0.6% chance to get a drop.

Also worth noting it does indeed say match not map, so it only happens 4 times a night, during the final map of the team matchup.

My friend has gotten it 6 times and I’ve only gotten it once lol

I’m not sure if it’s at the end of the match or if it replaces the standard 3x tokens every hour…but it’s completely random…watch enough and you’ll eventually get one

I got my sixth this season at some point yesterday

At the end of the 4. Map victory screen you can win 100 tokens.
You’ll get an email notification, informing you about the jackpot win.
I hope we get something cool again like the all stars skins, since I’ve saved over 300 tokens

Pretty sure during OWL S1, the token drops were 1 per map watched, with a random chance to get 100 dropping at once.

Not sure what it’s like right now for sure, but last I heard, it’s 3 tokens per hour watched, with a random chance for 100 to drop.

I like the fact that they incentivise watching OWL with tokens so people will have a reason to watch, its almost like they knew that if it hadnt had tokens less people will watch.

But hey allot of people still dont watch and let the twitch run in backround so that counts i guess.

Just to be sure, you don’t have the twitch stream muted when you watch, right?

I love how 90% of the people who watch OWL are afk token farming lol

Completely made up number but ok
