So… Hanamura, we attacked and shattered the first point, barely made it for the second. Defended, got shattered on the first point and lost the second. third round, we made it on the first, but didn’t on the second, defended, lost the point A but managd to keep the B. We went to draw. Shouldn’t the match continue with less and less time until a team looses just because they got away from the point for a literal second? How does that work here?
In this situation, the game could be ENDLESS. There is no guarantee that someone will win.
EDIT: I misunderstood, I do not believe that this would work either because you are forcing teams to play a certain way.
There is no way the game could be endless, the energy consumption would eventually make one team drop to the ground and make huge mistakes, big enough to be noticable. Maybe both teams have the same skill level, but most times one have more resistance, basically what made Korea win against the US back then, both teams were beasts but after 4 games, US was just spent.
Edit: And, considering how spent we were, 4th game in a row, it was most likely that it was our time. The draw was more of a savior for us xD
I never proposed anything, that’s literally how the thing worked on every ranked I had so far on the recent times, mostly on escort
This makes it sound like if the defending team steps off the point, they lose.
Huh, no, don’t you know how the thing works on asault maps? If the defenders steps out of the point on overtime, but the attackers are there, the overtime is still on and the capture will happen. If the defenders are but the attackers aren’t, the time will go down. If both aren’t, the overtime will go out and the defenders wins.
Yes, and it makes sense as to way that happens. So I don’t understand what you’re confused about.
Ok, look, I’ll start from the beginning itself then:
When you fight against a team, there is a system of points, in which whichever team does “more”, wins. On escort, you have a point for each checkpoint, and a point for the objective. When both teams reaches the end of the map, the match just keeps on and on with less and less time, until the attackers can’t stay on the payload long enough. Like this:
- 1R: A finishes the push, B looses the defense. 3-0, 3:27 on the clock
- 2R: B finishes the push, A looses the defense. 3-3, 4:53 on the clock
- 3R: A pushes with these 3:27, reaches the end, 6-3 but with 1:21
- 4R: B pushes with these 4:53, 6-6 but finishes with 0:58
- 5R: A starts the match pushing with 1:21 on the clock. Finishes, but on overtime, 9-6.
- 6R: B pushes, but only with 58 seconds on the clock. They push the entire way on overtime, 9-9. If A didn’t managed to finish the push of the Round 5, this would be the victory.
- 7R: A starts already on overtime. They failed, they pushed ontil little farther from the second checkpoint. 11-9, 0 seconds.
- 8R: B doesn’t need to push the entire map, but as instead just a little bit more from what A pushed. If they reached that point, they win, if they doesn’t reach that new objective, they lose.
The longest escort game I ever had was 6 rounds, we pushed, they pushed, we pushed, they pushed, we pushed on overtime, and managed to stop them and finish the match on overtime as well.
I expected something liek this to happen, where both teams just keep going on until one manages to do more than the other.
Minimum time you can have on any mode from the start of OT is 1 minute. If you were to “Start” in OT, which you can’t. You wouldn’t even be able to touch the point on 2CP.
The Draw system isn’t fun to play with, but it makes sense at the end of the day.
And even then, how many times do you actually draw? I’ve played roughly 200 games this season, 2CP is one of 4 modes and I’ve had 5 draws.
So, 200 games divided by 4 modes, 50 2CP games, and I drew 5 times. Thats 1/10 of the games, and draws can also include hybrid maps. ON AVERAGE BASED ON MY STATS
Woah, I never said it was wrong, I only said that it took me by surprise and they didn’t expect that to be a draw, and asked to understand how that was working xD
If you made your original post like the one describing the Escort, it would have been much better IMO.
I’m rather surprised I had to explain it like that, you’re not precisely new to the game and I thought you knew what I was talking about xD
