Explain this to me. I’m playing in Competitive Open Queue. We get Eichenwalde. The enemy team manages to push all the way to the end. Score is now 0-3. Round 2. We manage to do exactly the same thing, pushing the cart all the way to the end. Score is now 3-3. Round 3. The enemy team has to cap the first 1/3 of the ring to win. They fail to cap it. The game ends in a draw??? How is that fair? What about Round 4??? Why don’t we have a chance to win? Let me get this straight. At Round 3, they can either Win or Draw, but my team can only Draw or Lose??? HOW IS THAT FAIR? That doesn’t make any sense!
You got to the end in overtime.
They got there with time to spare.
So they get to try to take first point.
So the game can’t be forced to hours long by smurfs.
Which used to be a problem.
On Hybrid Maps, if you end your 1st attack round with no time left, you won’t get bonus time (unless the opponent has no time either or less than one minute).
The extra time you got from your 1st attack round will count for round 3 (or 4).
On Escort maps (where you can start pushing the payload without capturing the point), the game will always give extra time for the 2 teams can have extra round.
But I agree, playing to make it a draw or lose doesn’t feel good… at all.
That’s so dumb though. What was the point in winning in overtime, if we can’t win after that? Might as well call it a Draw or Lose right then and there. Oh, you won by a thread? Just kidding. You lost.
I would rather just take the L right there instead of sitting and defending another 5 minutes just to either Draw or Lose.
