How does it calculate SR?
During your very first placement matches, your SR is determined by the rank of players you win/lose against.
If you win against Plats, your next placement game you’ll notice more Diamonds, and vice versa if you lose.
After you’ve placed, if you are below Diamond, it takes performance stats into account and with those it determines how much SR you win/lose (though by default you’ll always lose around 10)
Above Diamond, SR gains/losses purely go off wins/losses.

Preach, I just wish that I didn’t lose 30 SR every time I lose, and then never get back to that point cause it takes 3 matches to get to that same again.
Your performance will be compared to the average Performance of the average of your chosen hero at your rank.
If you overperform you gain more/loose less, if you underperform you gain less/loose more, your MMR is also factored in
