So I have been a tank main for the last 10 seasons, got myself up to plat from Bronze. People tell me I have too large of a hero pool.
Tracer was one of my favourite heroes when I first got the game, but I never got the chance to play her in comp due to having so much tank time.
I would like to dedicate about 80% of my play time to her, what should I be playing when she won’t really work?
What is the easiest way to take down Mercy and Ana? I find them a little hard to engage due to their shape

Tracer has unlimited skill ceiling, that’s one reason it’s not really bad to one trick her
Drink a gallon of tea every day, stop brushing your teeth, and practice being annoying as you can to everyone around you. Being a lesbian helps but is not required.
Buying a new account will help you tremendously, the best part about a spare account is you don’t care about winning/losing in comp and don’t have to flex.
Just play her. If you have Nvidia gpu, you can shadowplay to record your own gameplay and watch it to notice your mistakes. For Mercy and Ana, I try to engage on them when they’re busy tunnel visioning on healing their team. It’s okay to fail since you can’t consistently take down Ana and Mercy every time. Just know that your job is to be in the enemy backline and put a lot of pressure on them to force mistakes. Once you see someone isolated, then you can engage on them for a pick but it depends what hero they’re playing.
For the hero as your backup, try to find a long range hitscan that you can switch to if Tracer doesn’t work out. Chances are the enemy team will run Pharah so you’ll need to play one. If you’re playing on a map that has a lot of high grounds, then you can still play Tracer against Pharah by using high grounds a lot.
I was in the same situation as you were but me being a tank/support player. I was like “screw it”, I’m just going to play Tracer a lot and here I am having her most played in every comp season since season 6. You need to play her a lot because she is one of the heroes that requires lots of hours to be good at. You can still play her in this meta, it’s just going to be harder when the enemy team switch to Brigitte but it’s possible to play around her if you’re good enough.
Just play her a lot, that’s what I’m doing currently and I’ll keep doing it. Just play her. You got this, I believe in you. :3
Whatever you want? If you can play other heroes then just fill, I’d imagine Soldier/Sombra is probably most similar to Tracer as far as aim/tracking goes so maybe give them a try but if you’re actually trying to one trick then all you have to do is get an SSD and spam click her location on hero select.

Just get few heroes that you are confident with to be used in different situations. Once when you start playing tracer you will get better with the time and you will exclude the extra heroes one by one until you don’t need them anymore.
You can also just move to one of those heroes if you see that you are doing better with them in most situations compared to tracer.
But if you’re bad with her, you’ll be beyond dead weight to your team. You’re either a God or you’re useless.

How does one become a 1 trick tracer?
Step 1: Get a fast computer with SSD so you load in game before everyone else.
Step 2: Select Tracer on hero select before anyone else every game.
