For example, I live in the Pocono’s of PA my friends live in Philly PA. We are about 100 miles apart. Whether we are grouped up or not, if I type something on the opening menu in general chat they don’t ever see it. So this got me thinking, how does General chat actually work? I’m not sure how many servers Blizz has for America, like if its divided West/Mid/East. Or if the servers are running different instances or just different server stacks. Does anyone know how it really works?

American Region has servers everywhere, including Singapore, South America

Idk how this witchcraft works, I could be playing online with my friend in the same room and we won’t see each other’s posts in general chat
What I do see is a beautiful collection of disturbing questions and ideas that make playing under the influence fun even when you’re not playing the game itself

Its players closest to you? Or like in older Blizzard games, you get enrolled into channels which have likt 50 players max.
There is also additional tab “Players close to you” which I dont see on my pc but see when I play in other places.
