Into a FULL group of enemies … Kill them and not die.
Skill issue?
they won’t even survive a second of focused fire without any healing.
Usually with teammates and ana
It’s sometimes hard for me to explain how I dive as Winston and not dying.
I feel my main goal as Winston is to dive/disrupt their team, bait cooldowns with my bubble, and escape with my next jump (IF there is a chance of me dying immediately). The more you play Winston or any tank in general, you’ll get an idea how much you can take and survive and what positioning could outright kill you. Anyways more often than not, if I see there are squishies in their backline (I’d say moderately distanced away from their team), they are the ones I’ll usually dive into, especially if it’s just their supports heal botting.
I’ll try to go for kills, but the value of Winston is disrupting and having them force cooldowns on you, then your team needs to follow up if anyone’s low.
For DVA, I have no idea how to dive as her. I feel I commit too much with her flight then demaching immediately afterwards. I’m way too used to having a barrier for protection when I play tank.
This right here. It’s pretty much the same as D.Va, except with less focus on disruption since that’s not her strong suit. However when it comes to diving the slightly out of position squishy, her lethality is better.
This was how i played Winton in OW1, but I just get melted and am mostly ineffective when i try to get any dmg value from him in OW2. Ive retired from him until he is more viable again -way better tanks to choose from.
Right on. I think that’s my problem. I play Dva too similar to Winston, I guess. I’ll mostly go Dva as a defensive role if they have ults I can reliably counter with dm. Winston isn’t as good for reliable protection that Dva has for the team.
You pretty much said it with Winston. Dva. don’t know. With Winston its all about timing and positioning with him and his bubble. You would jump in when their is a pick and or go for healers when they are low. I wouldn’t touch either in OW2 though. Maybe Winston for some Control Point maps but that’s about it.
Playing a lot of Soldier and Winston in OW1 I despised Hog which is why I LOVED going Orisa against HOG in OW 2.
PAYBACK BABY!!!
The answer with Dva is you don’t.
Going straight to the backline is a death sentence. Dva can only punish bad decision making. Against a truly defensive team you’re better off on a tank with actual frontline presence
Well with my last match … Thats what she kept doing.
For Winston, you don’t even have to kill anything yourself. Your primary goal in nearly all situations is keep the supports busy. Block their LoS to heal their allies. For them to have to heal each other. Force them to shoot you.
While that goes on, your team can try to make progress on say killing the enemy tank by out lasting them. If the supports are caught isolated or in a bad spot, you can pick up a kill off say a charge fire → leap → melee → zap → charge shot. Charge shot mainly if they get away from you.
You don’t have to kill them, you just need to make space - bait out their cds.
Winston for example, I dive BEHIND the enemies back-line - for the team to turn around (making space for my team to push in), by the time hey break my bubble or even get to me I jump out to safety.
No how, you don’t dive as dva, you play like fat tracer, disrupt and deny the area and dive only where they have no cooldowns and you have someone to commit to dive with you.
