YouTube has had a history with… tricky video uploading. For some reason, I think your video might be getting compressed? Have you considered changing the file type of the video? Maybe that could be the cause of your problem. If it’s the case, it’s most likely a YouTube problem rather then a You problem. That’s what I can think of at the moment.
(Impressive play BTW.)
I don’t even know what that is. I use ShadowPlay to Record Gameplay then I use Filmora to convert to MP4 which allows 60fps uploads. I see other formats I could alter my vids to besides MP4 but I’m confused.
Well, if you can find any encoding setting setting, make sure it’s “H.264”. SHADOW PLAY THOUGH. Yeah, that’s a difficult software to use especially with YouTube from what I’ve seen. You have WAY more control over the video with OBS (Open Broadcasting Software), albeit it’s a little more difficult software to use.
Here’s a link to the OBS website. (Click Me)
And here’s an article on encoding processes. (Click me)
I have a feeling it’s most likely your encoding process, although I’m no expert on video editing. If you need to, you can look into guides and methods on video uploading if you need to. Also, OBS is completely free, so don’t worry on having to pay for it. Once you wrap your head around OBS, it’s not too difficult to use. PLUS, it makes streaming easier if you’re interested.
Hope this helps!
EMPHASIS on OBS. That software is something you should take your time with. I’d recommend looking into several guides, and figuring out what’s best for you, if you’re interested in using it.
Wait a minute though…
If I have the files as is HQ to begin w/ while using Shadow Play. Doesn’t that by default mean that such is another issue entirely like maybe converting my files to AVI before uploading? I mean they are HQ when I view them on my IPhone & PC
I keep them MP4. I’m just guessing such as being the problem. That or there’s some sort of hidden option on YouTube that allows higher bit rate uploads. I mean ppl upload 4K vids and I’m sure they don’t look blurry nor grainy unlike my 1080p uploads.
Hm, just try looking into OBS and it’s many options. Essentially, it’s best to use an MP4 file format with your encoding process set to H.264. Make sure to upload them as MP4 with the H.264 encoding settings preserved when editing and exporting with Filmora. Start there, then go from there. There’s also many guides that I’m sure are better then my input too.
Yeah… that’s too much. Adobe is not free. I’m not even a paid streamer or anything. I just want to motivate myself by watching my own clips like I watch streamers that also motivate me to try harder
I don’t even think Filmora was FREE. Fairly certain I paid for that and probably Lightroom too at some point. You can use Shadow Play for FREE but it won’t allow 60fps uploads even though it records in 60fps cuz I guess your using some other Windows app to port from PC to YouTube. Idk tbh. That’s just what I have seen.
I’m just extremely jealous of that 1st vid I shared compared to my own…
One thing is that you’re being given the AVC1 codec, which is the lowest quality one. You don’t get to choose which one you get, but smaller channels and videos will generally get that, while larger channels and videos will be given the superior VP09 codec, like the first video on the thread.
If that channel is yours, your “Genji - No Assist” video has the VP09 codec. You can easily see the difference in quality if you look at your “Genji Assist OFF” video, which uses the same clip at the start of the video but in ACV1. Although they’re both only 720p so it’s hard to compare them to 1080p videos.
There’s also AV01 which is meant to be even better than both.
You can tell which is being used if you right click the video and click Stats for Nerds. It shows the codec used as well as a bunch of other things.
What I used to do was upscale my videos to 4k during encoding, and that seemed to force the VP09 codec. But I stopped doing that because having fake 4k videos seemed like a bad idea for the future when 4k becomes more common. I have no idea if they even looked good on a 4k monitor.
But if you grow your channel then I think you’ll be more likely to get the higher quality codecs.
Dang dude. You really dug deep into my uploads examining things I totally forgot about.
When I was PS4 the native uploads via PS4 were terrible quality until…
I used ELGATO HD60
Which is seriously SAD that I can literally find PS4 uploads from 3 or 4 years ago eclipsing the visual quality of my top of the line PC uploads in the present tense
In fact I even recall such visual supremacy now
Now look back & compare such to the 2nd vid posted as I rise over Rein shield & PAUSE the vid looking at the less than 360p visual quality of the textures on the pillars & my blurry mess of a crosshair. That’s supposed to be 1080p/60? Are you kidding me…
@0:04 dafuq is dis…
Looks more 144p than 1080p
I’m on PC now…
How is this even possible
My ELGATO HD60 uploads on PS4 look more PC than my actual PC uploads using Shadow Play. Why is this SO DIFFICULT.
How am I more significant back then than I am today. I was nobody then. I’m nobody now. YouTube is BROKEN
