How do you turn off the game chat?

These PC players are very annoying. I really just want to turn this off and enjoy the game. Not the voice chat but the sidebar chat

Afaik, there isn’t an option to disable it unfortunately. It’s kind of fun to have in a novel way, but I worry that it opens the door for a lot of toxicity. I have messages from people I’m not friends with on PSN turned off for a reason, but this kind of circumvents that, which I don’t love.

During a match press start and go to Social, click on the speech text icon next to team & match chat to turn off or on.

Chat is now on console also as well.

No worries, only annoying thing you’ll have to do that each time you restart the game.

The console players would have been too if it had chat form the start.

If going to attack someone, do it at the right person.

I swear I don’t know what Overwatch you all are playing, I have been playing for 4 years now, and I rarely see any toxicity in chat. Which is great, but all of you come here and tell stories as to how you have been bombarded with toxic comments, when to me it’s a rarity.

Guys pack your bags YouNeedHeals never sees toxicity in chat so it doesnt exist. Toxic players are no more.

Where did I even say that? I’m just sharing that in my experience I do not see repeated toxicity.

I know I know it’s Overwatch…. But seriously I have so much fun and such healthy games it’s super weird for me to come here and see everyone else say they have miserable experiences with tons of toxicity and all of that. It might be because I play on European server and toxicity here isn’t that prevalent…. Or I guess I’m just extremely lucky.
