Is there an in-game mode to do that?
So far my solution was to just capture the replay with obs, but this method feels a bit unprofessional.
Did blizz give us a tool to do that that i did not see?

There doesn’t appear to be any option to save replays or expand the capacity beyond 10. They specifically recommended using video software to record things you want to keep.
I’m not sure why Overwatch has this limitation. Blizzard has been fairly consistent about how replays work in their other games, and this was never an issue before.
How do I even watch a replay? Like where in the menus do I have to click on?
It’s a tab in your Career Profile.
Ohhh thank you. Odd place to put it if Highlights gets its own main menu thing.
Due to the extended functionality of the replay function, you cant save them
I recommend Plays.TV. It’s not hardware demanding at all and will save you a 1080p60FPS with good bitrate, not muss, no fuss.
That’s not the point tho. Say I’m starting up an Overwatch session and man, that was an awesome game I wanna see that from every angle.
That means I can only play for 9 more games and I darn well better be in the mood for some video editing.
C’mon. Let us save 3. Autosave the last 7.
Edit: did not mean to necropost. But the point stands!
You should watch your losses after every loss. It will reduce your salt level, give you a break and let you see what you could have done better while it is still fresh in your mind.
so because the replays have extended functions, there is no save option? makes no sense, it’s not like they ran out of room in the game.
As of now yes, the extended functionality is what makes it unsaveable,
Devs said they are intrested in this feature though, so id say their working for it
It’s a really really stupid place to put it.
where you been, dude?
i quit the forums, i only respond to notifications sent to me now
But we had a x the y thing going…
And a postcount rivalry…
May i ask what happened?
I consider you a highly esteemed poster here, fwiw, regardless of disagreements on some items
did a harmess joke, some mod got triggered and suspended me for a week
and may i say that this is not the first time this happend,
and frankly, ive had enough, im tired of how stupidly this forums are designed, and how bad the overall customer support is
plus, It aint like anything i say gets heared anyways, So eventaully i figured why give myself the headache on having to walk in a landmine field for no goal what sowever
if you want to talk to me, just add me on bnet,
ive never seen the arguement brought up that there is no saving feature for replays simply because you can choose who to spectate. if you captured a bare replay, who are you watching? did you want to watch your own footage? someone on your team? maybe someone on the enemy team even?
Usually people want to record a replay to learn from their own mistakes, so it’d make sense to add an option in game to do so.
Similarly how highlights can be saved.
I tend to be more interested in how the enemy flankers were doing, like “I barely saw their Sombra, where the heck was she?”
I tend to just use the recorder that came with my nVidia card and rewatch my games, but occasionally, i get a good game where i didn’t have the recorder running and it’s a good second chance to archive and study.
I have several terabytes on my HDD Blizzard please let me use them to save replays lol
