How do you prevent being spectated?

There’s a friend who keeps spectating my matches as well as random people but I really don’t like it. Is there a setting that turns it off?

Nope unless is a custom games room.

Be so mediocre at the game that you’re too boring to watch.

If it’s a friend remove the friend or tell them to stop. Random people can always spectate QP and arcade via other peoples friends list though. Nobody can spectate you in comp so you could swap to that instead.

First I would split my friendlist in 2 types if you don’t want to remove the friend in question.

Real ID friend and Friends.

Select your Account Privacy Options(battlenet one) to only be visible to Real ID friends. That helps to make tracking you harder on things like battlenet and stuff like that. Not sure if impacts in the game view but is something that can help be more approachable from some folks and less approachable from others

I’m used to use the appear offline setting while playing through steam or through battlenet you can be somewhat hidden from being listed in some cases, but isn’t bullet proof. Busy or some in game setting that I’m don’t remember anymore also helps me on other stuff like avoiding auto-join groups etc, although if someone in the group doesn’t have the setting the feature is enabled by default.

Dunno if the streammer setting can help with something related too it aside changing your visible nickname.

Those are things that often I use due not always having a good social battery remaining. I hope that it helps a bit in your case.

If you wanna avoid snooping friends - just go “invisible” or “appear offline”. Works every time.

  • Play competitive mode
  • Have no friends, that’ll decrease your chances of someone spectating your game in quickplay. As it can only come from your teammates/enemies. But even then, it’s not a guarantee.

i shut the blinds…

…oh wait…that’s a different kind of “spectated”…

never mind…

All I want is to be left alone, in my average home
But why do I always feel
Like I’m in the Twilight Zone?

There’s no setting, but you could ask them to stop. And if they don’t stop you could unfriend them. Then they wouldn’t know when you are on or anything.

When I come home at night
I bang the door real tight

thanks for the advice everyone!

People call me on the phone I try to avoid,
But can the people on TV see me or am I just paranoid?
