How do you play this on Switch?

Without buying extra controllers like the Pro Controller there are 3 types of control shemes you can use on the switch but none of them really work:

Handheld:
Since the console is a handheld this is the most important of all. Especially if you have a Switch lite. Unfourtunatly it also play worst in handheld. Doesn’t matter if I turn gyro on or off it just feels weird. I’m constantly fighting against the motion controls and have to reset it a lot.

Joycon grip:
Better than handheld but still not perfect. You have to at leaset turn off one of the gyro axsis to make it comfortable to play.

Detached Joycons:
This is the one I’ve played the most with but also has it’s issues. Selecting the profile gives you a good sensitivity out of the box but the aim assist which is enabled by default makes it really hard aiming at anything. Worse: There seems to be a lot of input lag when using just the joycons to aim.

All of this makes a really unenjoyable experience and I wish they just copied it the way Nintendo did it with Splatoon.

I always forget that this game is on switch.

Makes me wonder what GM/t500 looks like on there.

A friend of mine plays on the Switch and honestly you’d think she was on PC; she does great. But she also started from XBox so maybe that helped her get used to it? No idea of her control settings, though.

It’s crossplay so no difference. Before Top 50 was around what you consider diamond on another console

I find the pro controller to just generally be more comfortable for most games. Darkest Dungeon though I play in handheld with no controller at all!

I don’t have a pro controller yet. Is there any difference in using the joycon grip when playing Overwatch?

I try to avoid using joycons as much as possible with the Switch - the stick drift issue seems to happen so frequently with them.

I bought myself the Hori split pad a year ago & haven’t looked back. The joycons just aren’t good enough for games like OW.

Two words. You don’t.

I used to play with the pro controller on hand held lmao. Somehow I ended up placing 2822 as DPS with Ashe

You buy the pro controller if you’re playing anything that has any action. The standard controller sucks in all it’s permutations. It’s passable for slower paced games, RPG’s etc.

T500 diamond and like 1-2 GMs

Before crossplay

I believe the input lag is due to framerate than an actual bug, this said tho In Splatoon I prefer detached joycon but for overwatch I prefer pro controller due to the buttons used, this said I just use a custom preset of high stick sens to move the stock and low sens on motion controls to aim, seemed to work for me

You don’t, just uninstall rather than ruining other people’s gaming experience.

The same way it looks on Xbox and PS4 because of crossplay though there must be only like 1 or 2 switch players on Top 500

Prior to crossplay Top 500 on switch did not have 500 players in it because not many players could make it to diamond… I regularly had them in my comp games because I’m high plat
