Serious question. How do you play that role?
Hi, Im a GM tank main and the biggest thing in my opinion is SPACE SPACE SPACE. Space can be a tricky concept in OW2 but it is essential to understand to play tank effectively. The reason it is tricky is that it can be achieved in so many different ways depending on what your team is playing, what you are playing, and what the enemy team is playing, so I cannot go into detail on all of these methods that have to be learned in-game. The basic idea of space is creating opportunities for your DPS to get eliminations while also denying the enemy team from getting eliminations (especially on your supports). This can be done with a shield (outright blocking damage and creating map control for your DPS to play in a safe place) or by pressuring the enemy(usually the supports if you can) team and forcing their focus on you. This will take time to learn. The other big thing for to be a good tank is resource management. If you run out of resources or die your team is at an immediate disadvantage. The best thing you can do for your team is stay alive in most situations. It is tempting to blow all of your cooldowns to get a single elimination but if it at the cost of your life it is often not worth it. The final tip is to have fun, pick a tank you enjoy and learn them, almost all tanks are viable in OW2, especially at lower ranks as long as you are having fun playing them you will improve over time.
