How do you play Doomfist?

I’ve wanted to try him but I’m scared to because if you pick an F tier hero people expect you to be a god, or tank super hard on that hero and that’s usually how the skill level works on Doomfist. I have not found how to play him properly.

For those that play him well, are there any special combos you know of? Is there a special way you should play him such as positioning or who you should prioritize? Most good Doomfists I’ve seen kind of just jump at the enemy like a Genji would and still get someone and get out whereas if I tried that I would die instantly.

Well dont be afraid to try new heroes. Even though I play some Doomfist, Im not a pro at him.
Also use sesmic slam to get close then uppercut then hand cannon.
DO NOT SESMIC SLAM IN FRONT OF A JUNKRAT!! YOU WILL DIE
If it is a tank, you can easily land rocket punches and stun them.
You can use some of the skills to finish them of with the hand cannon.
Do not go into a fight alone or fight at all if you are in cooldown with all of your abilites. But Doomfist skills have low cooldown time so yeah.
I highly advise that you stick with your team. Silver Doomfist out.

It’s also the best way to get hated and drop rank so I’d like to go in knowing what I should be doing. If I go in and spam abilities it’s not going to turn out very good.

Also Don’t Slam into a McCree unless you know for a fact his flash is on CD.

There are a few ways to use him, both result in him being useless for 4 seconds at a time.

I suggest playing in FFA, it gives you awareness and practice against some of his hardest counters.

It’s getting a feel for his punch distance, what’s too close/too far. How much of a charge you need in any given moment, uppercutting is used to immobilize opposition to finish off with mouse, slam is engagement/disengagement tool depending on how you got in. RP can be the same way as an engagement/disengagement tool.

I have practiced doom for about 2 months straight and what I have picked up is basically you sit in ambush (preferably on high ground) then when you see an enemy support or a squishy dps use slam from high ground and aim for that sweet 125 dps smash and uppercut (50 dps) and you should be able to finish them with a normal melee or single hand cannon shot. after that, if you hit or miss that combo, use your main punch to gtfo of the enemy team and to your team for support and shields. wash, rinse, and repeat
(also i have gone to streamers like brandito and chipsa for tips on target prioritization as doom and they said try and get your counters like mcree first)

Be a cheeki breeki going for BS kills.

If only he had “is this easy mode” as a voice line because you can get an infuriating kill, T bag them and spam that voiceline until they tilt super hard.

Doomfist:
Pros: Good Mobility, high damage output
Cons: Relies on his Abilities, Limited Range

What I mostly see good Doomfist players do is, they use Slam, then Rising Uppercut to lift a foe off the ground and into the air. While in the air, handcannon them in the face. Once they are dead, if their team notices you, you can escape using Rocket Punch to launch yourself away from them.

Get a couple hours on bots vs AI. You’ll get comfortable with when how to use each skill.

It’s kind of sad that the advice I’m being given is to only use RP for running :stuck_out_tongue:
Just goes to show that RP needs a buff or something to be worth using as an offensive tool more than a running tool.

It’s just so hard to get a hit. The hit box for it is insanely tight.

Yah, Doomfist “Best Defense” only gives him max 150 shields which is easy for a coordinated attack to whittle down quickly…plus, Doomfist is a big target. But Rocket Punch can be used offensively if they don’t notice you and generally you can get a 2nd pick by smashing a squishy into a wall. It’s a tactical choice whether you use it to run away or smash something.

Uhh where to start.
Weave shots inbetween abilities. Extra damage doesnt hurt and since you reload by time therell always be one shot ready
slam headshot uppercut combo is god tier.
Learn to rocket punch jump to move around
Learn rollouts so you can get to awkward places
Basically kinda play him like a really clunky guerrilla fighter and use your environment to set up high speed ambushes and break up the fight by uppercutting tanks out of the way.

rp is very situational, if you could get a high priority target with it then go for it. but if you dont see yourself hitting it then just turn around and get outta there

if you look on youtube at brandito (a top 500 doomfist) he has some great videos on how to pull off some amazing combos and escapes.

remove space between youtube. and com for the link to his channel

BTW if you put the URL two spaces below the previous text on a new line (push enter twice before you put it in basically) and add four spaces before the URL. You don’t have to break up the URL. It’d look something like this:

https://www.youtube.com/user/elghtt

That type of text basically puts anything in the same paragraph in that little box. If you push enter it’ll just write normally from then on.

It’s easier because you just have to copy paste without having to remove spaces or something before you use it.

https://www.youtube.com/user/elghtt
A better way actually is to use the button above tab: “`” at the beginning and end of the URL and it’ll make it grey like I did above. It removes the need for the box.
