Just went on a 8 game loosing streak and lost 200 sr, and I thought I played pretty well through out. How do you all handle bad loosing streaks like this. Do you switch to another game? use another account? just play AP for a while?
Thanks

Stop playing for the day or at least a couple of hours. The more you lose the more tilted you get. It’s an unending cycle.
yeah tonight is not a day for climbing as dps hero, its a constant +25sr-25sr+25sr-25sr kind of day.
I do wish the matchmaker would make a distinction between rank and skill…im 2500lvls into the game in gold…and if this is an average rank…why am i still being matched with lvl100 and below players. Am i supposed to be a coach now?
I went 3-7 yesterday. 3 game losing streak, followed by two wins, followed by a 4 game losing streak.
After a lose where i feel like i played well, i usually think about what happened in the game and what i could have done better.
Sometimes if I’m feeling saucy I’ll even watch the replay back, but usually i just try to think about how i could have played better.
That’s all you can really do; play better.
You’re gonna win games and you’re gonna lose games, i guess it takes a type of mental armor to be able to move on.
If i feel tilted or angry, though, i usually turn off Overwatch, but i don’t tilt often.
I had tilt episode yesterday. I dont usualy have them, but i had so bad team mates in 4 games. It was insane. I usualy stop playing or just stop for a while, come myself and tell myself to fucus on improving as i am doing more mistakes when tilted.
Only 8? I had a 23 game streak that took me from GM to Diamond and I climbed back 700 SR so far No complaints I guarantee someone has has a worse streak that you.
I don’t know which is worse, the fact that this may have legitimately happened to you in a game with technical systems that are supposed to guarantee balanced matches on a reliable scale, or the fact that you’ve seemingly normalized and accepted it.
Just accept what’s happening, pick a hero you’ve never played before and try something new. OR just smoke a bowl n pick Torb and chill out on the map somewhere
I stop playing competitive at 3 losses and take a break.
Stop playing the game/role after a 2 game losing streak.
Run a second or third account purchased at little to no cost from someone who has left the game, leave the bad matches, accept the penalty, switch accounts and try again until you get a balanced match.
Or you can wait around for Blizzard to fix the problems with their matchmaker and SR system. Good luck.
Your solution is to ruin other people’s games because you had a bad game? Then you tell other people to do the same? You do realize that a large portion of this community complains about leavers and you’re telling others to become leavers themselves?
the 8 games in a row is a classic! I think the highest I have had was 17 games in a row. I felt existential emptiness when I went to bed that day. Even abused. Now I feel it is painful to have a losing streak, because the Queue time on DPS is so long and it takes forever to climb back. Most of the lost games are lost because of your team and not because of you too. It has made me appreciate and want to play Solo games, without a team. When I play chess I know it is me who makes the mistakes and I know why I make them. It is not tilting and you play at your rank.
I go on a 2 weeks break playing other games and when i return i keep losing
My rule is always to stop playing after 2 losses in a row. Even if you wanna keep playing you should stop because you more than likely will be tilted. Just play another game or do something else entirely and come back to Overwatch later that day or another day.
No, I’m advocating that Blizzard fixes their poorly designed matchmaker. This is called root cause analysis and it’s a key component to fixing any problem or challenge in life.
As an aside, yes leaving sh*ty matches is my personal solution to ensuring an enjoyable gaming experience for myself. I’m sorry if that bothers people but honestly I don’t care if they dislike my actions, that’s an acceptable outcome to me. Hard to accuse me of ruining matches for people that were so poorly assembled from the start that one team had no chance of even being competitive. I only leave the least balanced and least competitive of matches, and if Blizz would fix that problem I would never leave a match… Ever. Until then I will do what I must to enjoy the 2-4:matches I have time for each day. If blizzard can’t be trusted to assemble quality matches on a consistent basis I will take matters in to my own hands.
So if you can’t win, you give up.
You might as well just leave the game then, you know how this game was in the past, the current present and will be in the future. It’s never going to be modified to fit your own personal needs. Just quit the game.
I think nothing of it because a equally bizarre win streak is just around the corner.
Lol! You’re advocating that people quit a game and you think it is ME who has the issue that needs correcting? Lmfao!
Why would I quit a game whose gameplay I enjoy immensely just because it is mired by difficulty forming reliably high quality matches? Its much easier to simply leave those matches and move on to hopefully get a better one.
When you get a bad tech support person on the phone who can’t fix your technology problem do you throw the device away and stop being a customer for a product you enjoy, or do you get someone else on the phone and try again?
I try to get a titaning streak
