How do you get the S1 Battle Pass items?

I just bought the S2 Battle Pass and thought I was supposed to unlock everything from the previous Battle Pass that I had unlocked when I cleared that (I did that with F2P).
Is that not the case?
Did I really waste my time clearing the S1 Battle Pass?

Sadly battle passes don’t work backwards. If you didn’t have the premium battle pass when you slogged through it in season 1, you unfortunately can’t get those items just because you bought the season 2 pass

That’s lame. I busted my a$$ to grind through the entire thing and now I can’t get it cause I didn’t pay money then? tf. That’s straight donkey.

It’s one of the many reasons i’m not fond of battlepasses. Even if you pay, your on a time limit for being able to get the rewards and if you don’t manage to max it…well bummer, try again next season :roll_eyes:

I hope they either let people get the old rewards, or atleast remove them from the hero gallery. I don’t want it to be season 12 of Overwatch and I get to look at cosmetics I will literally never be able to get.

Skins will show up for each hero or in the shop for $$$$ at some point, as that seem to be their strategy these days…

Welcome to the modern AAA games industry. Cynical, systematic exploitation and psychological manipulation to get at all of your money.
I recommend counteracting this by giving them as little as you can.

What is even the logic behind paying for BP2 to get BP1?
You pay for the battelpass that is currently active.

No one would buy into battlepasses if they’re not a limited time event.

You should however be able to unlock Kiriko through hero challenges

Mark my words. Skins from BP1 will be available in the shop at one point in the future.

I mean for pete sake, they’re already trying to sell us a pack that gives a bunch of old skins from old events and loot boxes… I checked it out earlier and i own 90% of the skins in the pack from OW1. Price? €39.99!

Noire Widow, all the Blizzcon skins, Pink Mercy, and most of the weekly mini event skins still haven’t returned once their offer period expired.

I know I’m feeling confident in arguing that battle pass skins will join the aforementioned skins in the club of “one-time only” to ensure people habitually return on schedule to buy premium battle passes. Else they just wouldn’t be bought up like how they are now. It’s FOMO-based for one reason: maximum profit.

They keep trying to sell me that Kiriko skin from BP1. I’m a Kiriko main with no skins. I just don’t think they’re worth what they’re charging. The default one looks better to me than the ones they’re selling too. I figure they’re already selling these skins to us.

I’m not inclined to buy it because it’s time-limited.
Normal cosmetic DLCs have existed for years and years, and they sold fine.

That’s your fault let’s be real… why would you grind the entire S1 Battle Pass and then NOT buy it, and expect to get all the items in it for buying the S2 Battlepass?? That makes 0 sense…

Also if you were planning on buying the S1 battle pass to get all the items and to grind it to completion why not buy it at the start to get the 20% EXP boost and save yourself time?

Somehow i think you only read one or two lines. Besides, Blizzcon skins are an exception… They’re unique to Blizzcon ticket owners. That’s never gonna change.

Here’s the rest of my post which you skipped in your quote.

As for the current shop items, i couldn’t care less. It’s a given that they’ll return at either full price or a reduced price or baked into each heroe’s skin gallery where you can buy them directly for OWC…

However, i’m not talking about the new stuff from the shop, i’m talking about stuff that was available only through loot boxes in OW1 and skins from OW2 BP1.

Skins from BP1 will most likely be a vailable through the shop at one point, and that’s just how this system works.

Come back to me after a few weeks/months or a year from now when they’ve added more old skins to the shop from OW1 and OW2 BP1.

In what world does this make sense, huh? If you buy the S2 BP, you get everything in the S2 BP.

Sometimes topics like this make me question humanity. Learn to read and understand. Its not that hard of a concept.

Buy BP1 → get the things you unlocked from BP1
Buy BP2 → get the things you unlocked from BP2

Agree.
The same cosmetics from past battle passes should be also sold separately in the following seasons.
Also because you may not be able to play the game enough to grind for that skin you wanted during that season.

Of course it doesn’t make sense to unlock all previous battle passes just buying just the current one.
