So, did the changes improve anything for you?
You know, reduced health for those with a lot of mobility, changes to armor. What do you think about playing tanks? Anything you would like to see different?
Yeah Iād like it to be less reliant on counter-matchups.
Iāve seen some people saying that mutable passives were a good way to reduce the pressure to switch. Iād love it if they focused on that, preferably with hero-specific passives.
Yeah I am not sure exactly how it would be accomplished. But I just know itās tiring to have like a 10% chance of winning against the counter tank. Swap or take the L. Itās fatiguing.
I miss having a fellow tank. Having to take all that damage, be aware of where everyone is on the map AND deal with numerous nerfs has caused me to just not play tank anymore frankly.
me too, thatās why I play more OQ now than RQ.
Solo tanking makes you choose to either frontline, or peel the hyper-mobile DPS off your supports. Do the wrong one at the wrong time, and you die and get blamed for the lost teamfight (or game).
In OQ that generally isnāt much of a problem since people play at least two tanks, and the hyper-mobile supports DPS rarely get played because when they do, at least one tank will drive them away.
If my support actually heal me⦠Then, yes I enjoy tank. If my support donāt heal me then itās miserable, I just die non stop and I donāt like it.
Most of the time the support at least try. There are times when they donāt heal the tank and that is horrid.
No noticeable change. Playing Tank is still a chore because having more health doesnāt make Sombra any less annoying.
Tank will never be fun in 5v5. You have the full focus of the enemy team on you at all times and the only way to survive the onslaught of cooldowns and spam damage is to be literally unkillable.
Flawed format. Cannot be fixed.
I like playing Mauga and Iāve gotta say his damage feels supremely awful. Anything with armor or barrier might as well be invincible. I have to get creative to find targets who actually mind me shooting them.
Itās no surprise that Mauga sees almost no light of day with almost the worst pickrate in the game.
Yea.
Literally revert everything to before season 9.
Every single thing.
As to how it feels to play, from the perspective of a mainly doom player. Awful.
My hero:
- Canāt fight tanks AT ALL anymore because heās useless against armor. I mean, LITERALLY useless like negative amounts of damage. There is not a single tank that loses to doom in a 1v1. And the only kind of contesting he can do against tanks is ātee hee more punching!!! Smile! :Dā
- If the DPS passive isnāt applied to a target, I canāt secure a kill without hard stunlocking them with empowered punch or flat out hitting every single shot perfectly because doom only got one compensation damage buff after season 9 (while dva gets 3 damage sources buffed lol) and they just seemingly refuse to take power out of punch and redistribute it
Oh and add on the fact that thereās literally zero reason to play doomfist, when dva who has quadruple doomās survivability can go in and secure a kill easier and faster than a doom.
Counter swapping is still to overly effective in 5v5. The stress of being the solo tank and being perma blamed is still in 5v5 to the point where Iāve muted all chats.
Like unironically I watched some of my old clips of doom back in ow1 and got sad because I was watching a more fun game, a more fun format, a more fun hero, a more engaging game, and a more rewarding game. Literally everything about OW1 looked better from the HUD, to the way the game even LOOKED with 2 tanks on the field, the way the game felt, etc etc.
I genuinely cannot point out anything OW2 does better. The hero level system is cool I guess, but in terms of gameplay? Everything has regressed.
Miserable. And until 6v6 returns tank will remain as a miserable role to play because that is what 5v5 is.
I genuinely despise 5v5 and every problem it has created.
Can you imagine how fun a Doomfist able to 1v1 Reinhard would be to face for most heroes?
Ana still ruins the game for me. So easy to land nades and completely shut me down on Hog. I started to switch to Zarya most games, but I just want to play hog really so now Iām hardly playing compared to what I used to.
The effort to work around sleep/nade on hog/mauga is 100x the effort to just throw nade in the direction of the tank and get free value. I just played my 3rd game of the night, all against Ana, and Iām calling it a day as I just donāt have much fun any more. It has been wearing away at me for so long now, and the fact Hog is currently bottom of the tanks doesnāt help either.
It doesnāt need to be rein.
The dude canāt 1v1 ANY OF THEM. Not a single one. Also a doom that had damage would literally be on a similar strength level to the rest of the other tanks who can call reliably secure kills easier. Heās been completely screwed by not only armor changes but health increases. A doom who could 1v1 a tank would literally just be the same doom pre season 9 (who btw⦠was also not that good but definitely better than this garbage)
I donāt even necessarily want doom buffs, I just want them to get TF off of the rocket punch train, where they have done nothing but make empowered punch quite literally the only way doom can secure on a target. Itās boring for everyone. I gotta sit there and spam the easiest brain off part of doomās kit, and the enemy team has to sit there getting punched over and over because of blizzardās incompetence.
I honestly enjoy playing Tank; itās fun and rather adrenalizingā¦
ā¦until the enemy Tankās brain clocks out of its shift and they swap to Zarya or D.Va. Fastest way to make any round a slumber party.
I wish Orisa was a bit better. I enjoy playing as her and donāt want her to be supremely powerful/meta and hated. Sheās one of my favorite characters. Until then, itās Queen all the way.
I donāt. Even if she is not strong, she is horrible to play against. Being pushed around and her being near unkillable sums up what is wrong with tanks currently and why they are so frustrating to play into, even for the enemy tank.
Miserable, devastating
Like I would rather have a root canal.
Tank feels kind of nice, in open queue, when I have a 2nd tank with me. Feels familiar somehow, canāt put my finger on it.
Uh⦠I honestly dont really think about any changes, Iām sort of on auto pilot half the time (quick play). Donāt get me wrong! I am trying, but if I focus on any changes, I have a tendency to blame short comings on the changes rather than trying to learn how to work around them.
At the same time, thereāll be new patch notes in another 2-3 weeks, so I donāt put too much emphasis on trying to adapt. I just do the whole ābe like waterā Bruce Lee mindset at this point
