The worst possible heroes in each role. Its literally such an uphill battle against my own teammates just to get a basic game

Context would be kind of useful here. Were they playing Junk/Moira into a pharmercy or something?
Noone “expects” you to win.

well the matchmaker was supposed to ensure you lost that match, so it predicted the team comp you hated and adjusted accordingly

This is a misconception.
The matchmaker just tries to match you with equally skilled players as a team. Thats all.
