Again, sidegraded damage. The skill floor is just lower, so low ranks are finally feeling some of Tracer’s strength for once.
Not really tbh
Tracer obviously CAN chase people, but it’s 9/10 times a bad idea. You just need to position in a way that backing up enough before you get low will force her to leave. Don’t try to outrun her as that won’t work.
Because everything is easier to hit. Aim at the legs and you literally will not miss as she doesn’t have a gap below her waist. The only thing making her less squishy than before is the lack of one shot potential. Most multi-shot breakpoints are the same for the most part and because she’s easier to hit, she can’t stay in fights as long.
But at the same time, isn’t good at forcing fights that she can win. Tracer can only do anything 1v1. If you aren’t on your own, she can’t kill you. If she has to use all of her Blinks to get to you, she’ll have to Recall or you’ll kill her. You have to actively walk into Tracer’s killbox for her to kill you unless you’re completely isolated from your team. This has always been the case.
Tracer can start a fight with pretty much anyone, but it’s not a good idea to force aggression on her. It’s punishable and the most volatile playstyle, offering a lot of risk and usually little reward. No good Tracer is actively starting fights. She can, of course, get out of fights other people start, if that’s what you meant. But then she’s putting herself out of position, so you still got value.
I’m not denying that Tracer is very strong. But she’s always been this strong for the top tiers. S9 just means that non-GMs get to see this. Tracer was honestly nerfed from S8 as her 1v1 potential is worse due to the hitbox change. Her skill floor was just lowered a LOT because of the hitbox changes, so bad players are getting away with using her.
I know I’m not the best to ask, but as one who primarily plays tank and otherwise plays relatively easy support characters, I deal with Genji through swatting and smacking like he’s an angry, little cicada.
Personally, I don’t notice the HP buff that much… It feels like he’s deleting me pretty much as quickly as before…
He’s not bad, he’s just not as good as others. Someone recently put him in the “too much effort” category, and I agree with that. He requires a lot more effort than other dps heroes. He doesn’t have as much range, he doesn’t have a high rate of fire, he doesn’t have any mobility, he doesn’t have any aoe ability, and his ultimate is meh. With good aim, yeah, he can work. Wanted has really good results with him, but he also has… what, 6000 hours on the hero ?
Yeah, I’ve been wondering about that recently. I’ve increased the sensitivity a little bit yesterday, just to see. Too soon to tell. I should also say that I panic easily, so low sensitivity helps me in this regards too, because it lowers the impact of “jerk” movements.
I do that for Kiriko too. But Tracer still moves around really fast, and getting 3 taps on her is not easy. Soldier is best, I think, for those 2 : rockets on the ground do a lot of the work for you
Hmm, I don’t know. Tracer usually waits in a corner for the fight to begin, and then jumps on people, blinks to avoid damage, and gets away with recall. Most Tracers don’t blink into you. You don’t necessarily have to be on your own, just slightly in the back or the side of your team.
No she hasn’t. Sojourn’s just been better than Tracer in most of OW2. Tracer’s been decent for high rank play but countered a bit easily with hero swaps in her weaker states before S9.
i have like ~110 hours on genji and i can agree that aim is crucial on cass, the main difference between the cass that dies to me vs the cass that i die to is aim, plain aim.
aside from aim i would saaay:
try to always be on high grounds, so you can hear the flanker approaching you
never panic if the flanker is coming for you, pin him, so your team knows where the flanker is
if possible, apply pressure on the flanker with primary fire using the distance at your advantage
think a little about the mind game, if you move backwards, the flanker approaching you may think that your roll will go backward too, but the roll can go forward combined with your magnade
be creative with your kit, roll can also be used to reach a lower grounds faster than just walking so a roof can turn into a wall that will surprise the flanker eating your secondary fire or your magnade
Tracer has still been S tier though. Comparing anyone to Sojourn just isn’t fair.
Tracer counters actually mean something now though. Before, it was a complete and total skill matchup. This is the first season I’ve played that Tracer has had genuinely bad matchups.
