They can consider Cassidy to sleep with their mom’s at best. Still shooting peanut butter damage, still no range, still wide af body to catch every single bullet and projectile coming to his direction, still no mobility to utilize the map. Nothing. What’s sleeping here, but Reddit’s logic?
so theres thing called shooting, if you shoot him before hes literally in melee range his only option is to brute force or go back to his team/health pack to reengage later.
Wait… Cass has a gun ? I thought he could only punch with his cyber fist. My bad. I’ll try that next time

It’s safe to use nade after he deflects, and most Genjis are not patient with deflect as being patience with it gives the advantage to the opponent.

That’s just something you have to practice on.

3 shurikens do more damage than 1 peacekeeper bullet and Genji can shoot 10 times compared to your 6, so yes in terms of raw damage output, he is favored here. However, keeping space between you and him severely punishes his shuriken spread, reducing damage from base of 81 to 27 or 54 while you are guaranteed to do 70. So, you want some distance between him.
ashe and 76 are honestly worse into genji than cass is
I’ll try and work on that. Thanks for the tips
who is that “cass”?
practice makes perfect
that’s a problem, i know. U better keep your distance from him, or all the 3 shurikens will be hits together.
opposite, it helps you easy to predict his next movement. Pick ur time.
like i said before.
Also there is weakness of his deflect-zone. You just need to find out it and use it on ur terms. There are a lot of videos about it on YT. And train ur aim)
Sorry, McCree Or Cole. Or the cowboy. Or whatever you wanna name him
Yeah, I know. It’s just that, as I explained, I play on low-ish sensitivity (to help with aiming), but I have a tiny desk and a tiny mouse pad, so it actually makes it harder for me to follow targets at close range (like Genji, Echo, Tracer, or other characters with swift direction changes).
Thanks for the other tips
sounds like u made everything to make ur game uncomfortable)
I never find low game sense is okay for me. How long do u play in ov?
Yeah It’s not really my choice, I’ll upgrade to a bigger desk when I move out of my studio in a few months. In the meantime, I’m stuck with that.
270 hours. I was on high sensitivity before, but it was really messing with my aim (it’s already bad as it is). So I turned it down from 22 to 15. It’s a bit better, but now I can’t do a 180 in one sweep…
I mean you’re playing mccree… Literally just hit your shots. The genji vs mccree matchup is actually fairly even its just the better pilot wins, if you feel like the genji is just better skilled then you then yeah thats why characters like sym and torb exist. He’s basically a skill check whenever that 1v1 happens. Also when he double jumps it should actually be EASIER for you to hit since his arc is very limited in the second jump and he falls a set speed and all that.
Double jump is only easy to hit IF Genji is doing it from distance.
When he is next to you and start double jump over your head, it’s very uncomfortable to aim and easy to lose sight if him.
I don’t know, exactly. I’m not familiar enough with Cassidy to know why he’s a sleeper pick.
You have to be twice as good of a player, basically. You constantly have to reposition to put him on the other side of your team from you. Try to time your roll with his dash if you’re in the open. And finally, hit your shots.
Fortunately it is quite easy to be twice as good as a Genji player.
Genji is a tricky one to deal with, even for DPS. But ironically, I’ve been having some success dealing with genji as cassidy especially after the HP buff. In fact, cassidy has become my comfort pick now in a lot of situations whenever I’m playing DPS even against genji. So I wouldn’t rule out not using cassidy, it’s very possible.
As for what DPS hero is best against genji…I’m not sure. You could try mei, sombra, or echo. Pharah can be good too, but I’m not sure how viable she is after the rework.
Yeah I’m not sure why so many consider him bad. My winrate isn’t that high on cass right now but I can see the potential in him if I get good enough aim. I’m already having easier time dealing with flankers like genji thanks to the HP buff. He definitely feels like a sleeper pick atm.
Low sens is actually pretty good for aiming. On Cass maybe you should try to increase it a bit because of the need for flicks and such
but playing a tracking hero like 76 or Tracer, low sense is actually incredible. It allows for more cerebral, precise aiming especially with the buffed hitboxes. My sens + dpi is pretty low but I have a desk-wide mousepad and a pretty big range of motion when aiming.
With Genjis and Tracers you cannot panic at all. You also shouldn’t shoot at max fire rate on a hero like Cass. That way you will shoot into deflects and can’t line up your crosshair fast enough against their erratic movement
I’m finding that 1v1’s against Genji are just a hard aim check if he’s on you.
As long as the Genji looks in your general direction the basketball sized shurikens won’t miss
Genji, yes, Tracer, no.
Tracer’s damage was sidegraded. Her increased accuracy just means she’s doing the same percentage of a squishy health pool now that the average is 250.
She’s still melting people, is very difficult to get away from, is actually less squishy, and has almost complete control of when and where a fight takes place.
So she gets to dictate fights on her own terms, and that is one of the biggest advantages a DPS can have right now.
