How Do You Deal With Anger?

Its safe to say everyone has raged in this game, its almost built to make people mad since you are constantly encouraged to win and the enemy team may achieve a humiliating victory over you

No matter who you are, incompetent teammates, losing streaks, being steamrolled, being insulted, being tea bagged, a lot of things accumulate and end up making you feel like awful so how do you release steam?

I mean you can pound the ground, you can slam your desk, you can scream, no writting anything in the game chat tho you’ll get banned, you can develop clinical depression and see yourself as a pathetic lifeform in a toxic codependency with a careless game and an abusive playerbase, no venting in chat tho if you do you are in trouble

I main Zen.
I stopped getting angry.
I only strive to do better.

… I also sometimes switch to Moira, get the goddam Genji that’s harassing us, and T-bag him furiously.

I don’t get mad when playing team games. There’s other people there, sometimes making things easier. But also just the opposite. One can only do so much in that environment.
But when I played things like Guitar Hero or something where me missing the note was pretty much all me? I raged a bit after a few attempts at certain songs (I probably completed before)

Just remember it is what it is, and move on.
Or think of Zarya; “It’s only a game, why you have to be mad?”

Scream at my team, continue playing,scream some more,pop a few blood vessels,play more,continue screaming,have an aneurism,continue playing,lose voice from all the screaming,uninstall

I go to dbd and play as a killer.

Disclaimer: It can lead to even more anger.

This comment is way overdramatic honestly! I highly doubt you can get clinical depression over a video game…If you’re very open for that to happen, you shouldn’t be gaming at all or be on the internet for that matter…

I’ve never had this happen to me and i’ve never gotten so mad over a game in ow where i scream at my team or slam my desk.

Personally i just play to have fun and have stopped caring so much.

I mainly play QP, I try having no expectations going in, and I quit if things get miserable. I also recognize people that are better to mute.

That specifically makes me depressed.

… so what DO you people do to relax and have fun? Cause it doesn’t seem like video games are doing it for you.

I have learned to rant to my self and it helps me breath and lets me calm down faster as well as focus better

Well that WAS joke, an exaggeration for comedic effect

I get self loathing and an new found hatres for mankind but not clinical depression, jeez

Get off, punch a pillow, get back on and play quick play, mute chat so I don’t say something cringe and that no one can annoy me, play a different role, wait for the rage to turn into depression, and then pop off a little bit, then feel better.

Embrace tranquility. Or the clam slam. Whichever.

Stop playing for the day.
I’d say play something relaxing in the meanwhile, read a book, or even go for a walk. Just disconnect for the day and come back another day or even in a week.
Get a good balance, don’t let the game overtake your life.

If I dont play videogames my violent urges would make to kill my neighbour.

When I get angry in a video game I also kill my neighbours.

Note: neighbours are my Sims.

Oh no you got it wrong

GOOD video games do the trick just fine, this is just not one of those

Personally I’m just waiting for the PvE so I can pack my things, show all PvP players my favourite finger and then enjoy the story, characters and abilities (you know, the one thing that get people insterested in Overwatch at all)

Step One: Turn brain off.

Step Two: Autopilot

Step Three: After a couple wins/losses, quit the game

Step Four: Contemplate why I still play this game

Step Five: Spend an hour in WF customizing my character while thinking about nonsense

Step Six: Kill things in under a second and spend another hour looking around at the map details

Step Seven: Repeat the next day

How is joking about clinical depression funny? It’s a serious thing that you shouldn’t be joking about…

What is wrong with you?

Ideally this is what you should do. But sometimes I’m so mad that I can’t focus on anything else and all I want to do is go play a game that actually goes well. It’s not that I can’t relax with a different activity if I really try, but that just takes too much time and effort lol. It’s easier to just go back online and play until I get a good game and feel better.

It’s certainly easier to forget about what is upsetting you if you talk to friends or family though. Not necessarily talk about what is upsetting you, but just talk. But sometimes that isn’t an option so you just rage.
