Is there really any difference between a megathread and a normal thread? And if so what is the difference and how do i do it?
A mega thread is just a normal thread, but with a massive amount of posts.
Example: This is a normal thread since it has 2 posts, the Bastion isn’t being forgotten, he’s being ignored is a megathread since it has 16,000 posts.
Sometimes megathread are used as a culmination of ideas. Instead of creating a new thread for each idea on a certain topic or problem, the community or Blizzard makes on thread that all the ideas go in.
The Bastion megathread is a good example of a community made one, the old Mercy megathread is an example of a Blizzard made one.
I wouldn’t put megathread in the title unless you know for certain the thread will grow to reach at least 1,000 replies, or edit it in once it has.
A megathread is also usually a consolidation of many topics/an overarching topic.
“Megathread” is made up. Want this to be a megathread? Edit the title and add [MEGATHREAD] at the beginning. That’s the difference between a regular thread and a megathread, based on how people here use it.
