I’m trying to learn hanzo but he feels impossible to aim with. Do I just aim in the enemies general direction and hope they move in the way of the projectile? I’m mostly used to hitscan heroes and I can’t seem to figure him out.
have to aim a bit ahead of where they are going, and anticipate. Also, aim a bit high for the headshots.
Shoot where the enemies are going to be, basically hanzo measures how well you can predict the movement of your enemies except at short ranges.
He’s the de facto poster boy for projectile hero aiming in this game, me thinks. As such, he’s all about prediction and a certain amount of luck. Depending on your skill you can hit with him more often once you ‘get’ the predicting part.
Now in terms of headshots it’s more about luck and skill… Like for example, you gotta take into consideration the enemy that you’re shooting at head’s hitbox, and their height as well. So headshotting a Widowmaker compared to a Torbjorn has a lot of difference about them. Not to mention their movement speed as well. And that’s not counting abilities. If so, there’s always heroes like Tracer and Genii too, to add to your troubles.
And of course, there’s your positioning to take in account, and of course the pivotal prediction that I mentioned. Taking a certain amount of time to try to read your enemy’s movement is a start, but… You shouldn’t devote a lot of your time for that.
Also, his arrow travel speed. Shooting a Pharah or a Mercy with her, the further they are, is not a good idea as they’re generally too hard to predict and your arrows will be more of worth to you and your team anyways.
Sonic Arrow can help alleviate a lot of the above, as the problems complement one another.
Storm Arrows needs no introduction.
Dragonstrike is extremely situational, so yeah, use it wisely. Can be used as an emergency clearance button, can be used to spread the enemies apart (the previous point can gel with this point), or can be used to wipe 1/3 or 1/2 of the enemy team if "the stars align.’
Sence the projectiles drop down you should just aim a little up from there head

You don’t. You close your eyes and roll a bunch of dice.
