at season 1-10 i can genji without ana
but now its getting harder and harder if dont have nano on blades

You just farm your ult by shooting from across the map with 100% accuracy then dash in and get a 6 man kill
If you combine it with nano you get a 12 man where you kill everyone, make them respawn, and kill them again
according to the forums of course

Dash do a perfect 180 turn and right click the head, rinse repeat, according to forums this should be easy to do to kill healers and DPS in backline solo
In all seriousness I haven’t played Genji since season 3, but a lot of what I’ve seen has to do with him farming his ult from afar.

Make sure to blade in a place where you can’t be slept, don’t dive after lucio first if he has his boop, same w Moira and her fade, focus on building up your ult quick (harder now) and dive in on weakened enemies to confirm a kill. Trying to fight up close is usually not good with all the heals and tanks. I’d work on your ranged shuriken accuracy

In game everyone and their dog knows how to counter a naked blade, so either combo it with something or track cooldowns very carefully.
Ok first first of all nobody said that. We’re just saying y’all give him too much credit. He’s hard but never as much as you guys make it like to be.
First you need to watch 12 hours of Naruto to get into the right mindset…
Farm ult from a far because your shuikens go in a straight line.
Get blade and kill a support, get two and your team has more then likely won that fight.
Deflect what you can back at the enemy team.
Abuse your dash reset with co-ordination from your team.
Keep track of stuns and abilites that ruin you. This applies to ultimates as well.
Farm your ult and hope you do a good blade, because that’s all Genji is good for.

if u manage to pull this off you get to fight jeff kaplan himself and if u win ur fav hero doesn’t have to be nerfed if its hated right now or u can get a buff on a hero you like thats flying under the radar

Genji is literally the only character on the entire roster that I can’t play for absolute ****. His shurikens feel like pebbles to me.

Honestly he is, as Ana/Zen main in diamond I tried maining him on a separate account for good amount of time. And I think to do well on genji, you really need to learn tracking all the enemy cooldown while doing those crazy movement, at last you still need to learn how to position yourself to pick a fight where you can get heal and kill the enemy at the same time. With more cc being introduced, he is honestly getting harder and harder to play. So props to the high rank genji players foreal.
Put aside ego, I think before we want to judge how difficult a hero is to play to rank up, we need to actually put in the time and effort to know how it feels to struggle.

even high level genji play looks miserable
cavalry the other day even went to go as far as to say “playing genji in 2019 isn’t about doing freshnuts ****. it’s about doing the important stuff.” as he went on to get 2 picks and just get absolutely trashed the entire game

Water one of the best if not the best genji main (Reached T1 World recently with GENJI) and he constantly hits his left clicks… genji is balanced his win rate is even quite high for GM.
Genji is just played by too many ppl that have little aim and therefor rely on his kit too much. You need to left click to the head more …

If you don’t have a pocket Mercy or an Ana on your team, don’t play Genji.
