How do I play Pharah

Pharah seems to be quite strong in this new Brigitte meta. And Pharmercy has always been extremely annoying to play against and really effective if done right. I want to try and get better at Pharah, but I find myself with one problem. I find myself to be touching the ground too often. When I see other Pharah players play, I don’t think I ever see them touching the ground unless they’re really low and drop down for some healing or a health pack, or to get away from a soldier’s tactical visor. How do I maintain my resources more efficiently with Pharah?

Skip to 25 seconds in, he gives a pretty good explanation about how to stay in the air for much longer. When he says to tap the spacebar, just hold it down very briefly before letting it go and doing so again, rather than just tapping in quick, successive movements. That confused me a bit at first, but I eventually got it down. Before your fuel depletes, you can boost yourself up and gain higher altitude before doing it again.

Just remember to manage it well beyond simply staying afloat. It’s good to let yourself abruptly plummet a bit or boost up if you’re being targeted by a Widow or Soldier or whatever, because if you just float normally you become a very easy target.

Fly as smoothly as possible to save fuel. What I mean is, when you fly in a direction, be steady, dont bob up and down.

When is a right time to use my shift do you think?

When you are almost out of fuel  at least while you are still learning.

Don’t burn fuel while you are shifting. It doesn’t help.

Once you have flight down pat, get good with the concussion blast to move yourself around. It is what separates bad Pharahs from great ones.

Good Pharah’s don’t tend to get up in the skybox, because you get killed to easily.

Fly around and shoot rockets. That’s pretty much the meat of it.

You don’t always need to fly. You can reach a cozy little spot to spam from, but you gotta know what you’re doing and why. It’s a good idea to know where everyone is, especially your biggest threats, and always try to have a wall or object nearby to quickly go to cover if needed.

Hell yeah, no falloff, high explosive damage. A landed Pharah in the right place wins games.

Playing Pharah is an ancient art that requires minutes, even hours of quickplay experience to fully master. But I will try to give you a basic guide.

First, you must achieve aerial superiority. This is most easily done by using all of ur cooldowns and passive straight out of spawn, then slowly gliding lower and lower until touch down on the objective.

Once at the objective, spam rockets & concussion at nothing in particular either from behind a barrier or peeking out of a corner for maximum intimidation. You can also do this from high ground if you landed on a roof or whatever, but this is considered next level Korean pro sh@t.

Keep this up and after about 3 minutes ur ult should be nearly ready, at which point its time for some flanks. Flying casually, use hover to reach high ground, sneak around behind the enemy (they can hear ur footsteps so remaining crouched is ESSENTIAL), then choose ur target.

Healer are best, but if there’s something turrety that’s not bad either. Weaken them first with as many rockets as you can get away with. Remember, the rockets have travel time so try to stay as close to ur target as possible. You can use hover to juke a bit if you want, but they’ll be expecting this, so I usually don’t bother. Just to throw em off, you know?

When ur at about 10% health rain justice and watch that healer/turret melt. Right on target.

Don’t worry if you get shot down, just make sure to chastise ur own healers for not pocketing you straight away. Feel free to be as harsh as possible; healers love constructive criticism. Keeps them on their toes.

And that’s basically it. Hope you liked my Pharah guide, enjoy ur free sr

Boost jump to refill your fuel, use the cc wrist thingy to rocket jump of of the floor or walls.
