How do I play D.Va well?

As much as sensitivity is a personal preference, yours is insanely high. You really need to lower it by a lot xd

I’d start from something like 3.5 at 1600dpi for a tank and go from there, lower if needed. It all depends on your preference, your set up etc but it’s a good starting point.

Low sensitivity makes it worse when I’m trying to aim at people at close range who are hopping up and down. I think DmonDiff’s advice makes more sense.

Nah I’m used to my sensitivity and don’t have problems with it.
I don’t enjoy slow aim even remotely.

I’m more used to sensitivity around 10-12 as well. I have always wrist aimed.

Definitely don’t use 4K dpi like me tho lol.

It’s really more due to my set up but I’ve simply gotten used to it over time.

Yeah but he’s also a GM level D.Va who plays super aggressively. Now, the aggressive part itself isn’t the problem; it’s the amount of support needed to maintain that aggression. If you’re in Bronze-Plat, you’re not going to get that level of support. As someone who’s played a high plat level Ana for so many seasons, it’s literally impossible sometimes. Not because of priority issues or aim, but the fact is that if you get a support buddy who refuses to heal the squishies, then they’re going to pester you since they see you actively healing.

Hard to uber pocket your D.Va playing aggressively when your DPS are whining in your ear about not getting any healing lol.

And honestly even in Masters/GM/top500, Emongg sometimes just doesn’t have the right players to maintain his aggression, resulting in a swap out.

It’s as Flats said once; “it’s ok to take a high rank player’s style as a reference, but never try to be like them if you’re not near their skill level” (obviously not word for word, but generalized).

Nah, if they swap to Zarya when you’re doing good as Dva, that means they are tilted. That’s when the real game begins. Play defensive, but prioritize killing Zarya.

“Nice try” is a strong voice line in this matchup, and can be combo’d with “Aww, Aww, Nice try”. If you can get a sneaky graviton gulp, the game is over.

You’re taking an advice from someone with unrealistically high sensitivity 12*4000 which is 48000 eDpi…No good player/streamer/pro player plays at such a high sensitivity.

12 @4000 is OBJECTIVELY not playable unless you meant 12 @400

I mean do you but you asked for advice…Having an insanely high sensitivity is not gonna make you play better.

Just for reference the 3.5 at 1600 is not slow aim. That is not slow sens. I don’t know any streamer or pro player who plays at a higher eDpi that maybe 10000 - 15000 which is already very high.

That means nothing. 10-12 at what Dpi?? That is your in game sense. Dpi is your mouse setting. eDpi is your sens * dpi.

I just can’t be get used to low sensititivity. And it definitely seems counter-productive to me when people are jumping all over the screen at close range.

I don’t know what dpi I have. But the sensitivity seems comfortable for me so far.

In the past in ow1 I remember people saying low sensitivity was better but it never worked for me when I practiced with it. I just got worse even with practice.

Yeah I play on 2.10 and do nothing but wrist aim too thats my point.

The full extension of my wrist from the left or right side is a full turn I might have to slightly tilt my arm left or right but never move it like arm aim (My wrist always stays in the same location.)

If you go to 2.50 at 1600 which I played at before you can play wrist aim without moving the arm at all.

Which your sens is still many times higher than.

Is the idea with wrist turning to be able to do a full 360 turn by rotating your wrist from left to right? Is that what I should be aiming for?

Again it’s a preference but for tanks higher sens is better. Low sens is usually for hit scan. However there’s a difference between high and stupid high xd

if you don’t know your dpi then I can’t help you with that sadly.

Nope that’s what I meant.
It’s certainly playable. I’m now masters 3 using it so I dunno man lol

Give this a look. It is a professional OW coach doing a Kiriko and DVa VoD review:

Does anyone know the answer to this?

It doesn’t have to be this precise. Cyroforel could’ve meant 360° or 180°, but if you can do either without lifting your wrist from the desk, it qualifies as wrist aiming. One thing to keep in mind is that wrist aiming – as opposed to “arm aiming” – is said to speed up an onset of carpal tunnel syndrome. Furthermore, the higher your sensitivity, the harder it is to do micro-corrections when aiming, which results in loss of precision.

No you dont have to I would play somewhere between this way you can turn around quickly as long as you can aim with your wrist your fine arm aiming just for turning around isnt bad.

So if you need to do a 180 and need your arm to do it thats fine but aiming everything infront of you the 180 infront of you I would use wrist aim the left 90 degrees and the right 90 degrees

3040 Edpi and somewhere between 4800 Edpi imo.

EDPI = Dpi x Sensitivity.

2.10 Sens x 1600 dpi = 3360

I wouldn’t say theres much reason to go over 4800 Edpi as it allows you to play every character and do fast turns almost instantly.

And I wouldn’t say theres too much reason but abit more reason than going over 4800 to go below 3040 edpi.
