I want to achieve the first golden gun.
Just play comp primarily. You’ll get there.
It takes a while. You have to win 200 games for 3k cp! The grind is stupid, Frustrating and will take your soul.
Run for your life. Comp is a hot mess
All I do is play comp, I’m drowning in gold weapons.
place in all 3 roles, then grind your best role if you’re close to ranking up on the others, try to do so as well.
Place GM in all three roles, then play a couple extra games.
You in some luck since you have Comp and 6v6 Elim Comp so you can get placed in both. You can play the long game and get the points via your highest placed rank or you grind the games and hope you get there.
Make sure you do placements every time there is an arcade competitive mode. Stuff like CTF has super short games and you still get like 150 CP for placing Gold (below average).
Same, and I’m about to have yet another. I don’t even know who to buy it for, I have all the ones I actually want.
Maybe I’ll save it for Echo.
… gold is average. Silver is below average. Plat is above average.
thanks i want to get the bastion skin that sentry is so cool it looks like the australium minigun from tf2 heavy
My strategy was to play several seasons by just doing placement matches, wait until the end of the season competitive point hand outs for participating, then repeat until I had 3000.
I recently started this journey at the end of last year, now up to 4 golden guns.
What I did is I did my placements, then I chose the role I placed the lowest in (support) and kept playing that role as I felt it was the lowest stakes to keep grinding. I actually started enjoying the support role too so now it’s all I really play haha.
Gold spans from below to above average, meaning you can be below average and still place gold. Most of Gold is below average. The median SR is somewhere around 2350.
Gold is average. That’s why it has the highest population, numbers-wise, because most people are average, hence the term average. A median is not an average, and that, in fact, is why they are different terms. Didn’t you take 7th grade math?
I mean that line of thought probably helps plat players feel like they’re better than they are, but they’re really just above average.
the problem im finding with this rank system is that I mostly end up matching against plats and golds while im in silver
and it’s tough because you have to actually win or tie in order to gain competitive points
It’s funny to me how plat is above average, because thats the go to rank to make fun of. In diamond, anyway.
If you’re matching with plats, they’re grouped with someone. You’ll often match with golds in silver, golds who have fallen below 2000 and are still within the 5 game loss-streak before their portrait indicator turns. They aren’t really gold though, they’re silver. They just have the gold indicator still because of the handicap given to players below diamond.
I think that’s how it is in every rank. In diamond, they make fun of plat players, in plat they make fun of gold players, in gold, they make fun of silver players… lol
Just play comp. Trust me some day you will have tons of comp points and nothing to use them on. ;_;
Gold is a range, so it is below average, average, and above average. Mostly below average, though. Mostly below median as well.
People generally argue semantics when they don’t have an argument.
