How do I get out of silver?

I was gold last season but for the last few weeks I’ve been losing almost every match and I don’t know what’s changed or what I’m doing wrong.

I solo queue because I don’t have any friends who play on console and it feels like every team I get matched with is just shockingly terrible compared to the opposing team, yet that can’t be true because it’s supposed to be 50/50 so it must be me thats making us lose.

I had the same problem. I was almost in Plat, then went on a 3 month losing streak where I could barely win 1/3 games. You either need to figure out the new meta or figure out what you’re doing differently.

It feels like such stupid things that make us lose as well, like the team not standing on the objective in overtime and shooting from the side instead and it’s irritating.

Focus on not-dying. SR is determined by performance, not necessarily by victory. If your team wants to feed, let them. Hang back, play safe, and shoot the people they are shooting. Your life is more valuable then theirs.

Play actively. Don’t just jump into a game to play. Focus on improving. Go for headshots, dodge enemy fire, be mindful of where your team is in relationship to the enemy. Set goals for yourself in a match, and work at completing them. Going on “auto-pilot” and just trying to play is the best way to develop bad habits.

I played so badly in my placement matches (lost 9 out of 10) that I almost got out of silver :disappointed_relieved:

You just have to wait for Blizzard to decide that you no longer deserve bad teammates as punishment for doing well for a while.

I don’t know if it’s just you, because it’s happening to me and some other people too. I was in silver, and I dropped 500 Sr. All my games we had either : a tank that would set up at the ennemis spawn , dps that would not touch the pharah or, 90% of my games : a Moira that did not want to heal. It’s hard to win games when your zen is solo healing. It’s when your a tank and it’s hard when you’re the zen

You don’t. It’s destiny !

Very encouraging dude. Of course he can

A Zen should not be solo healing. It should be Mercy or Moira, or another healer to support the Zen. And that’s where the problem comes in, is when people don’t want to swap to a hero better suited to the situation.

Of course a zen should not solo heal. But apart from Moira and zen I can’t play support. If we already have a Moira on the team, I’m not gonna switch to mercy , a hero that I can’t play and with whom I’ll probably do less healing than zen because I can’t play her.
The problem also comes from people being pressured to switch to heroes they can’t play. If the team needs a hero in your hero pool, then go ahead and switch. But if they need a support and you’re a tank main, your gonna let your team down more than if you stayed a tank

THIS. When I play with my low gold friends, I find myself getting so annoyed by our team that I end up saying “Get on the flaming point! It’s right there, with the read outline! Hello?! Can you hear me?!”

Yea, that’s another problem, which can be solved by either grouping with others, or an implemented group finder system of sorts. A team with 3 support mains and 3 dps mains VS a team with a mix of dps/tank/support mains isn’t a very fair matchup.

Yeah  sometimes I get matches with a bunch of tank mains and no one goes heal or dps. I can’t possibly do both
