How do I get gold weapons?

I know it’s some type of currency that’s only available in comp. But, how many do you get per match?

You only get them at season end. You must do well, multiple seasons, to earn enough.

You get 15 for a win and 5 for a draw. So theoretically you have to win 200 games to get 3000 points. But depending on your season high you get a certain number of points when the season ends as a reward as well.

that’s not right, you get them after ever game, if it’s a win or draw.

Literally has done this since they added a competitive mode.

Oh! Can you get them in placement matches? I have 2750(been playing since 2016)

You get a little every game, and then a big chunk at the end of the season based on your rank.

Yes. You get 15 per win, I think like 7 or so for a draw and 0 for a loss.

I remember thinking they were coins you got from loot boxes at the start. I saved up 3000 and merrily went on my way to get Orisa’s gun, only to find nothing happened. :sob:

It was hard starting out in Silver but it got easier to get golden guns when I climbed to Diamond. Now I have 10. Next step. Masters.

If I remember correctly, you get 10cp for a win. Or was it 15? Somewhere around there…

Seeing some wrong numbers so
15 Per win, 5 for a draw, 0 for a loss.
You gain them doing placements and normal matches (so yes, one way to get a golden weapon is just doing placements)
Placements is your first 10 matches of competitive per season.

If you wanna grind a golden weapon in one season, you need 200 wins.
A golden gun costs 3000, it unlocks it for a single hero. The max amount of points you can have on your account is 6000 (until you spend 3000, now you have room for another 3000)
You cannot refund a golden gun, so choose wisely

Wait it can be got in CTF. Omg. Do I need to finish in T500 or just touch it. I actually came close to CTF T500 just didn’t have 50 games.

You can get a top 500 in any Competive game mode. You just need to end the season in Top 500.

You used to get purple coins in lootboxes… that’s how I got seven gold weapons, I never used to play comp at all.

As for the purple coins, I think they stopped using them around 2018.
