How do I check what I've been reported for?

EDIT: Sorry if I was unclear, I was actually sincere in asking “how do I check what I’ve been reported for”, this wasn’t intended to be simply be a “whine” post on something I did not understand.

I’m genuinely confused, I logged in at 1AM today after talking with some friends and catching up on schoolwork, only to find that “my recent communication behavior is not in line with how most overwatch players communicate” and “I’ve been reported multiple times for abusive chat”.

MULTIPLE times? By who? And why? Saying “gg” every match in QP open queue even if I lose? Like, what. I’ve only really gotten “countertoxic” with a few people and it was pretty mid even then, I woke up to this message today and I’ve been pretty okay the past few days. I was “maniac”/joking around in QP open queue one day late at night after a 8 hour catch-up session, but I said nothing abusive? I literally sung the “old mcdonald” song but the “gyatt” version in text chat and was just memeing around. If anything, people were abusive with ME and asked if I was “on gummies”.

I don’t even know if these reports are false or not, or what I should learn from exactly, because… I don’t quite know where examples of these violations are, so I have no idea how I broke the rules.

Open a ticket with CS and ask to see examples of the chat logs you were reported for recently.

You were likely reported because people found you annoying and/or considered your chat to be spam.

Open a ticket with customer service. Almost always they will never revert a change however

I’m actually somewhat insulted by the gymnastics to justify report system abuse here.

It’s funny you say this because people were joining in on the joke and singing with me, and the two people who went something like “are u on gummis?” had the chance to just put me on ignore, or disable match chat… but if someone THINKS another person is “annoying” then they can just try to get my account banned, ig.

Singing a few lines from the “old mcdonald had a gyatt” meme is also not “abusive behavior”, especially if people join in.

People can always try having fun in QP though! Y’know, fun! Something OW players don’t know, apparently.

I didn’t justify or defend anything, I merely told you why people likely reported you.

Maybe try not jumping to conclusions.

It does not. It only tells you that you’ve been suspended. Many times you don’t even get an email.

I seem to have run into a problem, the OW help stuff says that you should only send a email if you’ve been silenced or suspended because Customer Service cannot see reports for warnings, as it’s automated…

They must have removed this years ago (at least for warnings), because I received no email. I even checked the email I used to make my account, nothing. I don’t receive many emails and I check email titles before deleting them if I’m not interested, I’d have known if I got this kind of email.

You sure? It kinda sounds like justifying to me, but alright. Still doesn’t change how it’s not a valid reason, other randoms were also playing along with me and everyone was having a good time. If one or two people don’t like it… just mute the chat? Nobody’s being mean or abusive except seemingly those who don’t like the memeiness unironically. lmao

i think they have like gotten really weird with what you say in the game. started with that defense matrix thing. i mean i dont have a clue since i have had voice/chat off for about 2 or 3 years but yea i see these posts all the time so i think even saying the most inoffensive things can get you banned even if joking… seems more automated now, maybe thats what defense matrix means? … like we are using AI since we dont want to pay any human moderator in investigations

basically cutting costs and trying to make the most money out of everything

Ah nuts :slightly_frowning_face: well there goes that idea. The only thing you can do is hold your horses until/if you get actioned. Then you can ask to see chat logs.
